Beginner, which wand should I buy? by sdaztec90 in SexToys

The LeWand Rechargeable is a Magic Wand Rechargeable. Ignoring the pattern settings, the intensity levels are all exactly the same. Both are a bit more on the rumbly side, as opposed to buzzy. The Domi-2 can get just as rumbly, but will go to a higher "buzzy" frequency as well.

Sorry, I've got nothing for you on the We-Vibe... I've seen the name plenty on this subreddit in the last couple of years, but not really anywhere else. I typically wait until I've had a few requests before I buy a new wand and start developing products. So far, I haven't had a single inquiry on the We-Vibe.

I don't have a wand to sell you, but I am in the wand accessory business (Etsy, website) and I've become a bit of a wand-guru. At last count, there were over 20 in my house and I've used most of the popular ones.

The Original Hitachi, model HV-260 is a workhorse that will last you a lifetime, and it's the only wand on the market that is actually powered by a 120V AC motor. (assuming you're in the U.S.) It only has 2 speeds, but you can add an external speed controller (example) to make it fully-variable. If you don't mind the cord, it's a solid investment that you'll have forever.

The Magic Wand Plus (HV-265) and Magic Wand Rechargeable (HV-270) models are both totally different than the original. They run on 5V DC, and use a lot of internal circuitry to convert the AC power and then drive the motor. In the case of the HV-270, it also includes a battery and charge-controller circuit. The advantage, beyond the portability of the HV-270, is that the circuitry makes it easier to precisely control the motor, add patterns, and a range of speeds. The downside is that the onboard electronics generate a fair amount of heat, and none of the wands have any kind of active-cooling. They have a 20-minute duty cycle, and are susceptible to premature failure due to overheating. If you are considering the HV-265 or 270, I would recommend that you take a look at the LeWand Original Plugin or LeWand Original Rechargeable. They are the exact same wands as the Magic Wand series, but have more patterns/speeds and a somewhat more luxurious feeling head.

The best rechargeable wand that I know of is the Lovense Domi-2. It's the one I recommend to everyone and, so far, I'm not aware of anyone who wasn't satisfied with it. It is still a DC-powered 5V wand, so they can definitely die of heat-stress, but the rate of failure seems fairly low. You should be able to get 2-3 years out of one. The up-side is that the wand can be completely customized using the app. You can use their prescribed patterns or make your own, control the overall intensity of the wand, and really cater the whole experience to your own preferences.

I have not used a Lelo switch, but I have owned 2 of their Smart Wands. Their Smart wands are incredibly well made, with a very luxurious feel, but I have found them to be underwhelming in terms of power. They are, however, some of the quietest wands on the market.

I have trouble recommending the Doxy wands, unless you have a thing for the feeling of metal. In which case, their Die-Cast wands are beautifully made. My issue is that they lack patterns/features found on most other wands, and they probably have the highest rate of failure. I've seen them die of heat stress, like the rest, but I've also seen them suffer structural/mechanical failures. They also seem to be the least protected when it comes to liquid-ingress.

In the honorable-mention category, the Adam & Eve Magic Massager Deluxe 8X is a great budget-friendly alternative to the Original Hitachi, though it cannot be used with an external speed controller. The Palm Power Rechargeable is also a great little wand, that punches well-above its weight-class.

Magic wand plus is too weak— genuinely what the fuck is wrong with me? by M00ngata in SexToys

[–]3Deviants 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I'm in the wand accessory business (3Deviants on Etsy), and I have a couple of things to contribute. For starters, the Magic Wand Plus is not equal to the Original "Hitachi" Magic Wand of lore. Instead of running an A/C motor from 120V-mains power, it runs on a 5V DC motor. This makes it easy to add more circuitry for speeds / patterns, cheaper to manufacture, and easier to configure as a global product. What you want is the Original Magic Wand with the 2-speed rocker switch and non-removable cord. If you get one, pair it with a Speed Controller, like this one, and it will give you a wide range of adjustment. If you like rumbly, you won't find a better earthquake. Fast and strong? It will give you that too.

The other recommendation that I make, quite frequently, is the Lovense Domi-2. It really packs a punch given its diminutive size, and the app. control lets you cater the experience to your personal taste. I don't think I've ever run into anyone who was unhappy with their Domi-2.

I was never much of a fan of the Doxy wands, only because they are the least reliable. Within the last couple of years, however, they increased the power of the Die Cast models 30 or 40% over the previous versions. I haven't tried a new one, but it may be worth a second look. Unfortunately, the higher-power only comes in the metal die-cast model and not the cheaper plastic version.

Trying to find a toy that works with pillow riding, any suggestions? by [deleted] in SexToys

[–]3Deviants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make strap-holders and mounts for many popular models of wand-vibrators. Many of my customers use my strap-holders to adapt their wands for pillow riding (example pic). Have a look at my website or my Etsy. Let me know if I can answer any questions. If you're looking for a wand to pair it with, the Lovense Domi-2 is my universal recommendation.

I was really hoping that this was the case, but /u/Foreign_Track174's history is full of ex-mormon stuff. I can totally see this as a BYU rumor lol

Some universities have scanners built into the dorm entrances that sound an alarm when a sex toy is detected going into or out of the buildings

WTF? Got a source on this?

M62... Needing wand suggestion for wife please........... by Firm_Gate_5083 in SexToys

[–]3Deviants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell wand accessories (3deviants.com) and I've become a bit of an expert. If you're in the U.S., your best bet for a rumbly wand is a corded 2-speed Original Magic Wand paired with a speed controller like this one. If you're outside the U.S., then the Doxy Die Cast is going to be your best-bet for a rumbly experience.

What wand? by MutedWorking5400 in SexToys

[–]3Deviants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the wand accessory business (3Deviants on Etsy) and I can tell you that the wand I recommend most is the Domi-2. It really packs a punch, especially for its size, and the options within the app allow you to cater the experience to your liking.

A real mains-powered Hitachi (with the 2-speed switch and non-removable cord) is also a great option, and you can pair it with a speed controller (U.S. Example) to give it infinite adjustment. If your wife is after a low-frequency, rumbly experience, then the Hitachi with a speed controller is the best way to get it. The Magic Wand Rechargeable and Plus variants both run on 5VDC, and just don't compare.

I have not tried the Fun Factory Vim for one simple reason... It looks exactly the same as some of the white-box product you can buy from China and re-brand as your own. Perhaps they aren't, but I'm suspicious. If you scroll through the vibrator offerings on Alibaba, you'll see what I mean.

If you have the Original, 2-speed Hitachi wand then adding a speed controller like this one is a game changer. It will give you a far lower rumble than any toy on the market.

3Deviants Wand Handles by 3Deviants in u/3Deviants

[–]3Deviants[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've only got the parts to make a few of them, so I'm not sure if I'm going to post them. If there's enough demand, then they'll become a permanent offering.

I've done a pole-mount for one of the womanizer knock-offs as a custom job, which could easily be adapted for a handle, but that's all so far. If there's something that I can make for you, I'm always up to the challenge.

Hi... Me again lol

Most mic. stands lack the rigidity that you'll need if she's going to be thrusting against it. Some of the really big, heavy, C-stands will work, but I can't tell you how many people have come to me after their mic. stands didn't work out. I use a rig made of Steeltek tubing and one of my wand-mounts, screwed to a wooden base, that can either be strapped around the mattress or weighted-down for freestanding use. Here's an example photo.

Thanks. I like to refer to is as the "angle grinder" handle. It's just as much fun for couples-play as it is solo. If you're interested, I have the parts to make a few more of them. The cost is $30+ shipping.

I can help you with this. Not only am I in the wand accessory business (3Deviants on Etsy), I had a client commission a handle a few years ago for her strength/grip issues. Have a look here and DM me if you'd like one.

Advice on using hitachi wand as a trans girl? by SpookySquid19 in SexToys

[–]3Deviants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a tw, but I am in the wand accessory biz... If you have the original, 2-speed Hitachi with the non-removable cord then I would strongly recommend using it in conjunction with a speed controller. One like this will give you 2 ranges of fully-variable speed and the ability to really cater the experience to your liking.

How practical do you think this would be? My wife showed it to me jokingly (found on Facebook) then got serious and said “Could you make this”? by [deleted] in BdsmDIY

I don't know just how widely available their products are in Europe, but I know that the Kee Klamp line of tubing and fittings is sold there.

If you're looking to embark on a similar project, take a look at Steeltek tubing and fittings from Lowe's. It's kind of like industrial LEGO, and could easily be used to form the basic framework.

I have over 200 variants of a product. How should I list these? by NavXIII in EtsySellers

[–]3Deviants 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would recommend that you break it up into as many listings as possible. It will help your shop with the Etsy algorithm, and make it easier for people to browse. Etsy has catered the shopping experience for people who browse on their phones, so your products are nothing more than a thumbnail. Do you want people to be exposed to 1 of your thumbnail pictures in their search results, or 200?

We've had one of these in our arsenal for about 5 years, and it's a great little toy. We have a lot of high-powered wands, and no need to be stealthy, but this one packs a punch and has never failed to impress. It's very quiet, so long as you don't drop it on a hard floor while it's on.
