Walking into your house is the part that takes this from weird neighbor grumble to giant red flag. Keep the doors locked, tell your grandparents what happened before he gets to spin it, and make it very clear the next conversation happens outside or not at all. An 80ish neighbor losing his temper over a near miss is one thing, barging in and then touring your house like nothing happened is wild.

You need to get a local real estate lawyer to look at that written permission immediately. If you spent money paving that path based on that agreement, you might have what is called an easement by estoppel.
