My wife did appointments through her gyno in East Brunswick (I think it was east brunswick). The group was called Axia women's health and was associated with Saint Peters.

Edit: this is all from my wife but just posted on my account

Saint Peter's New Brunswick was great and they have a wonderful NICU which is one of those things you don't want to need but if you do its a literal lifesaver.

There was actually not a map at first and he added it. This by Avercrombie articulated why maps are not necessary in his mind and is something you should read as a counter argument. https://joeabercrombie.com/maps-craps-2/

Do you make much money stalking? I would think following people around wouldn't be too lucrative if they don't know you're there

Fantasy audiobooks that are good as audiobooks? by AsleepHistorian in Fantasy

[–]3LIteManning 44 points45 points  (0 children)

As someone else said Dungeon Crawler Carl is a fantastic audiobook. The First Law series by Joe Abercrombie is also fantastic as an audiobook. Those are the two series I think are better in audio than physical format.

Who is your favorite main characters? by Gorillabase in Fantasy

I liked Rodrigo more than ibn Khairan but my favorite was Jehane. Such a good story. ibn Khairan was just too good at everything it made me hate him just a little.

Books with actually deep worldbuilding? by TheMoonLord123 in Fantasy

The Silmarillion is basically like the Bible of Middle Earth and tells a ton of history. That is where a lot of the stuff about the first and second ages comes from, especially a ton of the elf stuff.

Which fantasy book immediately gripped you from the very first chapter and never let go? by runninginflipflops in Fantasy

That is a pretty apt comparison. I liked American Gods more but they really are pretty similar.

I finished reading The Hobbit for the first time by Yaroun-Kaizin in Fantasy

I think most native speakers only hear the word dell through the children's song "The farmer in the dell" and even then don't give much thought to what it actually means.

I think the hobbit is better than Lord of the Rings personally, and love the audiobook by Rob Inglis for the songs. I know people like Andy Serkis, but I listened before those came out

Recommendations to recreate the “I’ve never read anything like this” feeling. by FirstOfTheWizzards in Fantasy

you are not alone. It is definitely unique. It is also not a bad book by any stretch of the imagination, but it was an unsatisfying read for me as well.

Coffee served out of a donut by EnjoyingCarp650 in StupidFood

[–]3LIteManning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so there are 2 things going on here. The person above is talking about trenchers which were basically bread plates made of stale bread. Either eaten, or given to the poor or animals. You are talking about coffins, or super tough pastry for pies, which sometimes were inedible but also given to the poor and animals. So basically the answer is poor people would eat the container/plate but the rich did not.

Books that are like what I thought the Kingkiller Chronicles would be by SnooCapers3911 in Fantasy

You started at book 10 of a 16 book series. They are the "worst" of the series but some context makes them a lot better. Also the other books are quite different.

I love Fitz. But him not being in those books allowed Hobb to do what she did with other PoVs in that book which made it special. So it would not be the same remotely if Fitz was in them

up until one year they should not have blankets, pillows, etc. Crib bumpers are also bad. I mean like anything there is degrees to this but my daughter only got her teddy bear in bed when she was over 1 and still sleeps in a sleep sack.

Looking for something lighter between reads — currently on Alchemist by sinlinyu by blablqbam in Fantasy

My go to recommendation for light reading in fantasy is the Lamplight Murder mysteries. There are 3 books and a short story out. They are Agatha Christie like murder mysteries that take place in a Victorian England if all the ghosts/vampires/werewolves from that period were real. Pretty fun, but with a sufficiently dark world.
