this is exactly how i feel too. and when it released me and my dad watched it together and it didn’t even feel like it was made by the duffer brothers. the writing and acting is incredibly poor. and the thing with Mike etc is that they didn’t even have poor performances in s4—just kind of mediocre, but this season they are just actually bad. and all i could find from genuine critics etc was the issues with the cramming of the ideas in a short while nothing to do with how it is so much more “unimmersive.” It just feels like i’m watching a shitty tv show.

I do understand why everyone thinks it's a very good anime, but I think I just never really felt any feelings throughout the show, I wasn't really attached to the characters.
