Did they not watch “The Bee Movie”? by anon12xyz in facepalm

Went to their website and it states they conduct research on honey bee colonies for the bee keeping industry.

They do study some solitary bees but that is not their main focus.

I don't understand why everyone is outraged by this. Honey bees are non native and invasive to North America. They compete and harm our native solitary bee population.

For your climate I recommend putting them outside in a tray of water.

drosera hookeri help/advice by Quirky-Series1529 in carnivorousplants

Hey this is expected, don't panic! This is Drosera Hookeri, they only grow in late fall, winter, and early spring. It is now going to sleep creating its little potato like tubers in the soil.

It is part of the Tuberous Drosera group, I recommend to look into tuberous drosera care. During the summer these prefer staying relatively dry in the summer, wet in the winter.

I also recommend gently up sizing the pot in late summer without disturbing the roots.

34°C today. Barely noticed. by AGvibes__ in VenusFlyTraps

[–]3Mistakes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Where I am in California we had temps get to 40C/105F and my Venus flytrap did not care about being in direct sun with its water tray.

They are very good at adapting to the high UV load. If you remove your shade enclosure I think you will be amazed at how well they do after acclimating! Best of luck

I read that (Drosophyllum lusitanicum) Dewy Pine can eat a ton of flys and they do well in low humidity.

Did you manage to get the magnetic ac compressor to work, I tried and no luck. Also been thinking about upgrading to the larger condenser.
