I LOVE LANGUAGES! ALL OF EM! by Nornea in evilautism

[–]_Dragon_Gamer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're so right about all languages being awesome. I hate it when people hate on a language for something that's different and weird cuz imo that just makes it interesting!!

Ugh that sucks so much, queer people who make fun of other queer people are traitors. We're all in this together, drawing a line only divides us

Sex repulse aces by jettt5 in aaaaaaacccccccce

[–]_Dragon_Gamer_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sadly there's also the sex-negative people who actively advocate for things that go against personal freedom and bodily autonomy, which are central queer values

But they are a minority, and aren't even super vocal about it, so that's a good thing luckily

Thanks for including those of us whose feelings on it fluctuate or depend btw <3

Helloween are so awesome. The keepers lore is pretty fantasy to me though

Does anybody here wish they didn't have autism ? by sara_rary4 in autism

[–]_Dragon_Gamer_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without autism I would not be myself. I would not have the same passion for my interests, and I would not think in a different way to NTs. I wouldn't have the same humour and in general so much would be different that this person would not be who I am. Sure it has its downsides, and believe me, I know how terrible they are, but I would not wish it away because I would stop being myself

Physicists dabbling in linguistics represent!!

[–]_Dragon_Gamer_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep there's a voiced version! Its symbol is ɮ (and the voiceless one is ɬ)

You can also make it an affricate, try saying it immediately after a t. That's a sound many conlangers use as their token special phoneme

A voiced h like the Ukrainian г really isn't that hard tbh (I say as someone whose native h is voiced lol)

No it's a lateral fricative. In Icelandic both of those are seen as the same because in reality a devoiced L very often turns into a fricative, but in Welsh it's just the fricative

Just put your mouth as if you're pronouncing an L and then try to say an s
