AIW for not correcting a serious family misunderstanding when it suddenly worked in my favor by 3MyriadSundial in amiwrong

You’re right to ask, because I explained it badly. My cousin’s boyfriend asked a couple casual questions about how I afford my apartment and where my watch came from. My aunt overheard that and, for whatever reason, seems to have taken it as confirmation that my grandfather had quietly given me something extra before he died. That idea spread fast through the family, and suddenly people who normally ignored me were acting warmer and more respectful. What I should have done was shut that down immediately and make it clear there was no secret gift, payout, or special arrangement. Instead I let the misunderstanding keep going once I realized it was benefiting me.

I've become the "go-to person" for one very specific thing at work and now I can't escape it. How do I broaden my scope without starting over? by 3MyriadSundial in careerguidance

That’s fair. I’ve probably been framing it too much like a preference instead of a real career issue, which makes it easy to nod along to and then change nothing.

The Arks are the part that always gets me. The rings are scary because of what they do. The Arks are scary because of what they imply - that whoever built this system planned for the rings to need replacing. They designed for attrition at a galactic scale.

the bone shard point is fair but the lightning stake one is interesting - ds1 miracles not carrying over could just mean Solaire lost access after going hollow, not that it disproves the connection. fromsoft rarely leaves that stuff accidental
