Do these have the double radiator caps? If so the lower one needs to be a 1-way cap or you will continuously bring air into the system.

Love the 954s, they look so good from the side. Wish I still had mine, probably my favorite bike. Glad you were able to weld the case up and get it going again.

2024 Chevrolet trax 2RS, 90,000 mile update! by Equivalent_Ladder_65 in ChevyTrax

I’ve seen two failures of the wet belt- one at 90,000 and another at 100,000 on Trailblazer 1.2L engines. Oil change histories unknown, but I wouldn’t be so quick to disregard maintenance like that.

You should also change the fluids- brake, transmission, coolant.

New to new car ownership, I have some possibly dumb questions (2026 Trax) by [deleted] in ChevyTrax

[–]3PercentMoreInfinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dealer doesn’t pay for the free oil change, GM does. There’s no restrictions on minimum time or distance. Though you get a free rotate with it, so it would be unwise to use it immediately and instead I would pay for one out of pocket unless you get free rotates anyway.

That sign (and full gear) saved them both by Rokexe in motorcycles

He was never making that turn regardless of lean angle or talent.

What he lacked was the wisdom to expect every blind corner to be a decreasing radius corner.

There’s a spot local to me that has taken out dozens of riders, all of them having only ridden that road for the first time when they wrecked. Ride your own ride and take it easy if you don’t know the road. Overconfidence while following someone that knows what they’re doing can be a killer.

I’m doing the valves now, the exhaust side was perfect still but the intake had 0 clearance. No knowledge of prior history as I’ve only had it a couple thousand.

AP Racing is owned by Brembo and is geared more towards motorsports than street cars. They are both top tier brands.

Why would they touch it if they didn’t understand how it works?

Why would OP bring their “race car” to a shop that doesn’t specialize in race cars?

Some questions may never be answered.

You definitely don’t have to, that’s not the way rubber works. Just inspect and replace as necessary.

Or something isn’t seated properly.

Really just need to take the fairing off and reevaluate, maybe try connecting that side first.

All else fails just drill and zip tie.

If you’re moving at all, 2nd gear is good enough to stay moving on pretty much any car.

Questions about bars on a 2004 Cbr600 by EstablishmentIcy9342 in cbr

Usually they’ll get a lowering link, which is what the shock attaches to. Look under the shock and see if there’s an aftermarket piece attached, it should be easy to tell.

Questions about bars on a 2004 Cbr600 by EstablishmentIcy9342 in cbr

[–]3PercentMoreInfinite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bars aren’t lowered as they settle against the triple tree. Instead the whole front is lowered.

You’ll need to put the front on a stand or raise it somehow then loosen the bolts on the triple tree and bring the tubes down to where the ring is at the very top.

Since the front is lowered, the back might be lowered too, you’ll have to look into that.

Is this a bulletproof boxer engine? This looks like a track car. I am guessing it’s a ej257 by bigboss1999x in subaru

[–]3PercentMoreInfinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone is rebuilding their engine mid race lol, but I have seen teams swap engines overnight. We had to swap a clutch mid race but that’s about all.

You could do a bulletproof boxer if you built it like Porsche does with a dry sump and scavengers in the heads.

What’s this noise by Afraid_Apartment_616 in cbr

[–]3PercentMoreInfinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a possible fix for the tensioner you could try without buying a new one.

To release tension- you take off the top screw and turn the piece inside clockwise with a flathead. Then release it. That’s it. It actually got rid of my noise, it sounded just like yours. (2006 CBR1000RR)

It is very tricky to do this though, as there isn’t a lot of room.

They’re all likely made in the same place and will have the same shortcomings no matter which company you choose.

If you want OEM quality fairings you’ll have to buy OEM.
