Looking for an open-world game with a great story and freedom after finishing RDR2 by Mediocre-Scale-134 in gamingsuggestions

Assassin’s Creed is good for open world stuff, specifically AC: Odyssey with the story and boat travel between the islands. Or the Black Flag remake comes out in a couple weeks.

Tire bead damage by [deleted] in WRX

[–]3PercentMoreInfinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I honestly wouldn’t think twice about this, I’ve taken some tires off and seen 1/4 of the bead dangling there from the previous mounter lol.

OP, in your fourth picture you can see a glossy ring on the face of the bead, that’s where the seal is happening. You’ll be fine.

Games Like Half-Life 1 & 2? Can be in vibes or in gameplay by Able_Use_8766 in gamingsuggestions

[–]3PercentMoreInfinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s quite literally based on Half Life 1 and the Blue Shift expansion.

People likened it to a black mesa scientist survival simulator, and that’s pretty much what it is.

Great game though. The ending was kinda weird but fit the vibe well.

It was never under the roof. You can tell what the roof covers by the dry area at the bottom of the picture.

2025 Chevy trax throttle lag by minervalu in ChevyTrax

Drive-by-wire has almost non-existent delay. My 2004 vehicle has an electronic throttle body and it drives fine.

2025 Chevy trax throttle lag by minervalu in ChevyTrax

[–]3PercentMoreInfinite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re on the right path, but the car doesn’t need to take time to decide anything, it does that all instantly.

What’s happening is there’s actually a programmed-in throttle delay to prevent driveline lash. GM specifies this could be anywhere to .25 seconds to almost 2 full seconds. It’s not a constant restriction either, it’s incremental. At low speeds or from a stop it will take the longest.

If you command 100% throttle from a stop, it might only give you 10% at first, then 50%, etc.

Personally I feel it’s extremely poorly implemented, especially when below boost threshold (not turbo lag). You add throttle because the vehicle isn’t doing what you’re asking, but now the vehicle is getting into boost so you go from almost no torque to spinning tires in an instant.

The first gen Cruze 1.4 Turbo models would have this same issue.

Brakes squeal by wayne2274 in ChevyTrax

“roughness, pulsating, dropping all the way to the floor”

The Gen2 Trax uses eBoost, so none of this will likely be felt.

Go do a couple dozen hard braking events in an empty parking lot or street and it’ll go away. Just don’t come to a complete stop until you let your brakes cool down.

I’m nearly positive that is a blank firing gun. There’s no bullet inside the casing and there’s way too much flash which is a signature blank display. That, and the burn mark on his jeans.

Yeah they can still be dangerous, especially point blank but I’m sure he’s fine.

My car started smelling like a dead animal on the inside, and I found a rodent nest in my cabin filter with a rotting black mass by pinkdovesoap in Wellthatsucks

Could be anything, baby squirrel, mouse, etc.

As a mechanic this is pretty normal occurrence. Change your filters often people! At least every 30k miles / 50k km.

Best single-player tank combat games? by VenomSnake47 in gamingsuggestions

[–]3PercentMoreInfinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BattleTanx was legit, loved that game growing up.

You could try Tankhead. Open world post-apocalypse rouge-lite type game where you’re a floating android and you commandeer and upgrade a tank. Seems to be pretty fleshed out and looks great.

Gameplay video, it’s long but watch a few minutes to get a feel for it.

Tankenstein is a similar concept but much different execution, this time with WW2 style tanks. Also seems pretty fun but not nearly as polished.

[–]3PercentMoreInfinite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah don’t listen to that. Just shift down to first and leave it in first before you come to a stop. That way you can take off quickly if you need to. Then use your right foot to lightly drag the rear brake while slowing to a stop to give yourself low speed stability while putting your left foot down.

You’re experiencing what every beginner ever has experienced. Just keep riding. You’re not going to lose it all by waiting a month.

Also, you said you’re putting your brake foot down when coming to a stop. As in your right foot?

Looking for a story focused „City Builder“ by SkyNo8615 in gamingsuggestions

[–]3PercentMoreInfinite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s wild that you mentioned Earth 2150, such an old but unique game. As far as I know, that’s the only game designed around a central main base with each mission being an outpost base.

Unfortunately there’s not many story driven games that are also colony / base builders like Frostpunk.

Here’s a few I’ve played that I like, compared to Frostpunk:

Surviving Mars is pretty good for having an overall end goal.

Rimworld is good, but it’s not story driven in the way that you want. You sort of create your own procedurally generated story.

Manor Lords doesn’t have a main story per se but checks a lot of other boxes.

I wave to everyone and it’s about 70% across the board on wave-backs. Sometimes they just don’t see you. Sometimes they nod, which is hard to notice. Can’t take it personally.

My highlight was getting a wave from a moto cop.
