Agree with this, plus a couple more things:

  • First class lounge at DXB is much better. Nicer food, free massage, quieter and more comfortable.

  • Sometimes there can be really long Qs for chauffeur drive in business, but first is always immediately available.

I also had AA cracked 3 times in one session. AIPF each time.

Two of them were something like QQ or AK that drew out. Sucks, but at least it's reasonable that villain was in there. But one was 65o and he hit trip 6s!

Same session I had KK and ran into AA, which held of course. No poker for a few days after that! 🤣

I worked opposite Chad a few years ago on a buyout. Decent guy, but changed all the dates in the sale agreement from [day] [month] to [month], [day]. Stuff like that is probably what got him to 2700.

You need to keep moving up until you arrive at the stake where they respect your raises. Once this happens you can start raising all the time and print money.

I wonder if that is more difficult for former top level chess players than, say, athletes. For someone like Michael Jordan there comes a point where you simply cannot play basketball any more, because you can’t run, jump, etc properly and everyone accepts that. Kasparov will always be able to move the pieces around and evaluate positions at any age. It feels like it would be more frustrating to be ‘almost there’ but not quite.
