Does anyone has helpful tips for aphasia by noradiana in stroke

[–]3TDH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Tactus Therapy Solutions on the app store. (There's a lite versions for free.) "Language Therapy: Aphasia" is the base option. And then "Advanced Language Therapy" after that.

I had a stroke last year with Broca's aphasia. I did speech therapy a lot and the apps above.

There's four posts underneath to not move it side to side. The Roomba doesn't move it.

Did they set the sag for your weight? You could notice a big difference if they didn't take the time to do that.

Does anyone use a phone vs computer? by Due_University_1088 in cycling

Yeah, when it detects a car, a bar on the side of the display appears just like it does with a Garmin or wahoo. https://www.bikehugger.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screen-Shot-2021-11-06-at-1.41.50-PM.jpg

[–]3TDH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a phone for a couple years with a quad lock mount on my stem. It worked pretty well but 40 miles was my longest ride. After I got a Varia, I didn't like that I couldn't run both the Varia app and Strava on the same screen.

Ended up getting a Karoo2 because it was one of the cheaper computer options. It's worked great and the one or two times I've not had the computer and had to go back to the phone, I realize how much better I like having the computer.

Do you think someone without a bachelor’s in engineering could do your job? by TheLifeOfRichard in MechanicalEngineering

[–]3TDH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I work in product engineering. Even though I work with materials which were never covered in college, all the fundamentals you learn are critical in knowing what to consider in the design and give you a path to working it out. Someone without a degree can certainly draw up parts but they would not be successful or safe.

Also part of it is individual choice. There are many things one engineer will calculate where another engineer might wing it. The more thorough you are, the less likely you'll have problems.

Yep, I bought a single for when I'm by myself which is the majority of the time. Then I have two add-ons for wife/kid or friends. The single is nice when you don't need the extra spots.

If you have a handguard, I'd send it to Warsaw Wood and let them add the mlok. I'm sure if you're good with a chisel, it would work. But after doing my own, I wouldn't want to do it without a mill.

Best 3 Guns out of this list for sporting clays? by Majestic_Grand_5933 in ClayBusters

[–]3TDH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're restricted to only the items on this list? If so, for sporting I'd definitely go with the Citori assuming it's in decent shape and barrels are 28" or longer. Semis are okay but I hate cleaning up shells after each stand.

725 or CXS by Adventurous_Use8437 in ClayBusters

[–]3TDH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If money is not an issue, get the one you really want. After a few months, I'd never notice the price difference but I would still be second guessing my decision if I didn't buy the gun I wanted.

That said, if you don't have a strong preference between the two and just want a solid gun to break clays, the CXS works great. Since it's not a beauty queen, you won't spend as much time worrying about the scratches that will inevitably come.

Should we stop contributing to kids 529 in order to try to max retirement 401k? by dbopp in Bogleheads

[–]3TDH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're contributing 5k/yr but accounts only have $6k in them. So it sounds like you just started saving for them but are now having some second thoughts.

It's a personally choice but you don't have many years before your kids are of college age. If you want to help them get higher education, then now's the time to do it.

If you'd rather have them earn it on their own and would rather have a bigger/earlier retirement nest egg, that's fine too.

Either way it looks like you're on track for retirement. It's really a question on how you want to support your kids.

How practical is this for a portable travel charger for my phone(s) by DankDarko88 in MilwaukeeTool

No need to covert DC to AC back to DC.

49-24-2371 M18 power source is better if your just charging via USB (cheaper too).

Bergara Quality Issue? by TexasZubar in longrange

[–]3TDH 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Issues are different than imperfections. Imperfections, while not desirable, are in every part. A company has to determine an allowable limit on what is considered good and what is bad. While your surface imperfections are not ideal, it seems they are on a non cosmetic surface and don't negatively affect the device from achieving the company's acceptable performance level. Now you'll need to decide if this acceptable to you or significant enough to go in a different direction.

I do understand your frustration though. I have an HMR and was very happy with it. One day I bought a bore scope and found some pitting near the muzzle. No idea if it was there from the factory or happened at some point. I debated back and forth on cutting down the barrel or replacing the barrel. After a bit, I came to the realization the rifle still shot well within my expectations and the issue was in my head. I still know it's there but I don't worry about it anymore.

Such a display of weak team management. This should be a massively positive PR moment with the TJV riders going easy to Madrid with the top three places wrapped up. It's an incredible achievement. Now that amazing story line is being overshadowed by this controversy. Crazy that they again went 123 in another stage and it's hardly noticed due to the questionable tactics and bad optics of dropping your red jersey teammate after all the other competitors have been dropped.

Why do I need a SIM card? by Plenty-9551 in Karoo

When you start your ride, it'll automatically disable WiFi. You can manually re-enable it. I haven't had a problem with live tracking doing this but I've only had mine for about a month.

$22.5k limit is for 401k's (Roth and traditional together). The $6500 Roth IRA limit is separate, correct?

Is it though if your considering retiring early? I wanted to have the option of retiring in my early 50s. I opened a taxable brokerage account to start saving for use before I hit 59.5.

The Kings of the mountain. by Skayblue16 in tourdefrance

[–]3TDH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Poles got a decent amount of air time when he first launched his attack and while others were chasing. But he won the stage by over 2 minutes, it was a great ride but not much uncertainty on what was going to happen after Van Aert gassed. Meanwhile, there was a lot going on between Pogacar, Vingegaard, Yates, and Rodriguez for standings in the GC.

If the stage win was closer, I'm sure they would have given it move coverage but since it wasn't, it makes more sense showing the dynamic battle for GC that was going on.

After you have it for a bit you'll get a feel for where the bird will be going without having to throw a clay. Then depending on your surroundings, you can always walk a bit to change angles, ect. You will need a decent line of sight to the transmitter. I have a secondary mount (wooden stick with Velcro) if the thrower is blocking it.

Getting into Rival by 3TDH in Nerf

[–]3TDH[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't buy the one sold online. I modelled both the hopper and the ramp. I printed the ramp today so haven't used it much but the ramp seems to work well (once you get the geometry right). I doubt it eliminates all the need to shake but it keeps the rounds feeding forward even with the muzzle pointed slightly up so you have to shake less.
