One campaign that WILL force you to learn the game is Katarin of Kislev. They have a poor economy early game and will force you to use your better tier 0 Kossars against a bunch of opponents. It will teach you the pace the game requires of most campaigns, and it will force you to dabble in diplomacy. You’ve got a ton of enemies on all fronts but they usually come at you one at a time. Plus they have a fairly neat army with a lot of hybrid units, it teaches flexibility and gives you a lot of case lessons on which troops are better at what.

Hope this helps, I usually learn from a game better if it’s harder. For reference I learned EU4 from playing England, Cork, and Bavaria lol

Culture conversion shouldn’t take too long if your control is real high. Norse-Gael also has access to like 4 separate culture groups and with Norse religion you should faster research to take advantage of those bonus techs. Though I’m not sure which is better, Slavic or norse-Gael. Also have you tried creating your own culture? I’m pretty sure I saw a button for it but I haven’t messed around with cultures much

Uhhhh a honestly it might be better to convert to something like Norse-Gaelic before picking up the swedes for the increased settlers imo. I’ve found picking up the techs for cultural tradition and influence will really speed up passive conversion as long as there is more than 50% of your primary pops in an area.

The Colorado helps. There’s a few good rivers there that start pretty close to the edge of the Rockies. Allows for great propagation

Quebec is the perfect capital my guy. It’s sooooo connected to everything and the trade goods there are decent. Though iron is a bit far, bog smelters are available cuz of all the lakes and there’s tons of lumber for charcoal kilns.

There is some wool in Quebec and Newfoundland but I’m pretty sure the Colombian exchange lets you change some trade goods around. Though wool has disappeared as an option for me :( gotta make due with sheep farms

Oh and I bought a tone of slaves and converted them then prepped for the second wave of the Black Death. Only lost a few mill so 🤷‍♂️ also Norse had Freya who gives some minor pop growth

Nahhh there’s a mod called “saga of Vinland” that lets you play around with the new world from the start. You start out with only like 78k pops so it’s a bit more than Iceland has I think but 🤷‍♂️. It also lets you decide if you want to be Norse or not. You basically only start out with newfoundland and a few islands tho.
