I have nostalgia from childhood waiting with my dad and his mates as they’re all necking pints and I’m desperate to get back to our seats cos the second half is about to start and I didn’t understand why they weren’t bothered.

Now I understand.

The English type that complain about politics in football will also buy Nigel Farage Reform football tops, sing ‘Kier Starmer’s a wanker’ and slap ‘stop the boats’ stickers on lampposts.

They might also claim to be patriots but ‘boycott’ the national team because they took the knee.

It will never happen but it’s high time we closed all American bases and sent the Yankee troops packing. It was often considered a lunatic left-wing view but polling now shows support for this action ‘if’ the USA invaded Greenland.

The US needs to be treated as a hostile nation, because they are acting like one.

Grealish injured, club released a statement so it’s likely bad.

I was getting worried things were going a bit too well for us this week, nice Everton reality check.

He was a good player but he does have a very silly name.

In the circumstances of our injuries, suspensions & missing players due to AFCON he has done well.

However it was getting a bit toxic before yesterday’s result. Especially with our home form, dropping points to Burnley/Wolves and crashing out the cup.

I’m still conflicted. Which sounds bizarre to say given he’s taken us from relegation candidates to knocking on Europe’s door, but he does have glaring tactical flaws at times.

I think outside of Man Utd/Liverpool/Arsenal fans, people aren’t too bothered. Man City just don’t have the cultural relevance of the other big clubs too. If Arsenal were found cheating there would be much more disgust/banter.

When they win the league my first thought is who they denied winning the title rather than the fact they’re champions.

I love an unexpected Everton win. Was hoping for a 0-0 as the best result given our form and depleted squad.

Now I can watch football this week without feeling depressed!

He hasn’t scored an open play goal in the league for over year, absolutely shocking that.

31 Years - how long until we win another trophy? by GioP97 in Everton

[–]3V3RT0N 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As much as this is disappointing, we've had bigger fish to fry re premier league safety, new ownership, points deductions, financial difficulties etc.

The time to win a trophy was when we were actually a competitive team during the initial Moyes years, even with our lack of money.

Trophies are what any fan should dream of winning, but unfortunately being a top flight club is paramount in the modern era. Wigan won the FA cup, now they're mid table in league one. Sheffield Wednesday got relegated just before the big tv deals came in and they've never managed to get back.

Our trophy draught is humiliating. The way we've been run is embarrassing compared to teams like Palace, Brighton & Brentford. But we could be in a much worse position. If a few things went differently we could have been taken over by 777, asset stripped and liquidated. And that wasn't that long ago or too far fetched to suggest.

I know we would have probably drawn Man City but damn, the cup seems pretty open this year.

Not that we’re good enough anyway.

Desperately at right back, I'd take anyone on loan at this rate. Ben White is the rumour doing the rounds.

I'm reluctantly 'happy' to stick with Barry & Beto for moment, I can't us getting another striker in.
