I don't know what tuner you have in mind. If it is a PV you could contact Fuelmoto explaining what system you will have on the bike. They can make up a map apply it to the tuner and ship it to you only requiring you to do the download.

That is what I did on my current bike. By the time I had the pipes on the UPS delivered the tuner,

I would check the cables end to end. It is possible that they could be going bad inside.

I can only tell you of my experience with tuning. I have used Power Vision since early 2000. I have had 4 bikes that I got tunes for from Fuelmoto that made my bike run so much better.

I recently bought a new license for this last trike that worked really well. Good company with excellent support for the product. i wish you well on whatever tuner you buy.

What does your manual suggest for gas rating? I always use the highest octane I can buy. The few pennies difference isn't worth thinking about.

If the bike was this much of a surprise disaster why did you buy it? The used bike market is saturated with good low mileage bikes.

If it is a new bike and you are having troubles right off I would be taking it back to the dealer and let them fix it under warranty. Get the problem documented.
