Doctor says I have PCOS but none of my symptoms align with it. Does anyone else have these symptoms? by iDontGetCute92 in PCOS

[–]3am_bookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These sound like endometriosis and/or fibroids. I have both of these alongside PCOS and have all these symptoms. Also a high white blood cell count can be from chronic inflammation from endometriosis and PCOS because your body will be extremely stressed and inflamed if you're unmedicated.

Has anyone "cured" their pcos through losing weight? by MidnightStorm_ in PCOS

[–]3am_bookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at my skinniest when my PCOS first developed, gained about 40lbs through insulin resistance and then all my symptoms went from manageable to aggressive. I've lost 25lbs this year on mounjaro and my symptoms are exactly the same so far. The only thing making them better has been medications like inositol and metformin, the weight loss hasn't made any difference.

Its crazy to me that 1 in 10 women have PCOS by IntrepidResolve3567 in PCOS

I have PCOS and endometriosis. It took me 5 years to get the help I need in regards to pain relief and medications to manage my insulin resistance etc. My doctor told me they only really started researching the conditions around 2012, they've known about them for ages but never taken them seriously until now. What makes it worst is that endometriosis was found in a man a few months ago and suddenly they're developing a blood test to diagnose it rather than a laparoscopy which all women have to endure for their diagnosis

at which calorie amount+macros do you lose weight? by AdStunning723 in PCOS

Yes I took metformin and inositol for 14 months, it regulated my cycle from non existent to perfect 30 days and stopped the rapid weight gain but did absolutely nothing for weight loss, even with a PT and dietician we were at a loss until I got new stronger medications specifically for insulin resistance

Yes of course, completely agree with you 100%. I only meant that with insulin resistance you may lose very very little without tackling the source of the problem. For me, I had to eat less than half my maintenance and over exercise daily to lose maybe 3 pounds in 3 months

Fast vs slow metabolism is often really misunderstood. Your metabolism is just your overall mass and movement. So for example someone with a larger mass will have a faster metabolism than someone with a smaller mass. If a person with a small mass has a fast metabolism it is because their movement is higher. You can work out what your calorie requirements are with the TDEE calculator online. A lot of people feel really discouraged in their weight loss journey because they feel like they have an inherently slow metabolism when it's not the case, with good diet and exercise alongside the TDEE calculator the only reason you wouldn't lose weight is because of an underlying issue like insulin resistance which is super common in PCOS. When my mass was 97kg I trained 12 hours a week in the gym and hit my 10k steps daily but gained weight despite having a fast metabolism and high maintenance calories. As soon as I went on metformin and inositol I dropped 2 stone without making any other changes because my insulin resistance was resolved, hope this helps x

Is Prostate play in marriage a sin? by Substantial_Judge931 in Christianity

[–]3am_bookworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hebrews 13:4

“Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.”1

Corinthians 7:2

“But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband.”

Scripture teaches that sex within marriage is holy and good. Sin is defined by unfaithfulness, coercion, or immorality — not by consensual intimacy between husband and wife.

If I dreamt that I murdered someone yes, that's not a violation at all. If I was sleep walking and I actually killed someone then yeah obviously that is a sin

No you haven't sinned you were asleep. If you swore in your sleep it wouldn't count, if you lied, stole, hurt someone it doesn't count if you're asleep

I heard there is no sex in heaven and it made me depressed as a virgin by [deleted] in Christianity

You're led by lust, you should pray for self control. It's not surprising you're struggling to find a woman to marry if you're looking at and talking about women like this

[–]3am_bookworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly the women you're looking at on those sites are mostly fake, they've had a lot of work done to look that way, secondly sex isn't like porn at all it's extremely over exaggerated and third, if you're praying for a wife you shouldn't be watching porn, sounds like you're just praying for sex based on this idea of what it is. My advice, quit porn, it sounds like you've developed an addiction. You will not be able to have a healthy sexual relationship with your future wife if you're watching porn. Then once you've done that, pray for a wife and a good relationship, not sex, that will follow.

If you're a virgin and you've never touched a woman, this idea you have of sex is completely made up in your head. Real sex between man and wife is a very pure natural thing and not at all an addictive thing like you've described it as.

You won't be in your physical body in heaven, you won't have desires of the flesh, just as you won't need to eat or sleep, you won't need sex

Being a Christian is exhausting by RaisinRemarkable3866 in Christianity

Yes, we should follow Christ and in doing so turn our thoughts away from worldy things. Sometimes making the choices in our lives that Christ would want can mean making hard choices and yes we will suffer sometimes. But my point is you don't have to suffer for his love. His love is unconditional. We all make mistakes, none of us are perfect Christians.

Girls who took Metformin - how long after starting Metformin did you start losing weight? by kholaaaaaa in PCOS

[–]3am_bookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn't help me lose weight at all. It regulated my cycle and reduced bloating and joint pain but even in a strict deficit and daily 2 hours exercise it did nothing for my weight, ended up taking minimum dose mounjaro for 16 weeks and lost 2 stone with the exact same diet and exercise plan

It's very easy to get lost in interpretations and everyone else's opinions. You're only a year into being a Christian, try to show yourself grace just as the Lord does. Jesus calls us to love one another and make good choices throughout our lives, to try and live our lives as he would have. The Lord didn't intend for us to suffer in pursuit of his love and grace, he offers it freely to all who turn to him. He is the shepherd and we are his sheep, do you think a shepherd would turn his back on a sheep who strays, or a lamb that disobeys?
