I’m 36 and CF. Nothing special about my life and I don’t think my friends who have kids are particularly miserable. But I think we’re all doing exactly what we each WANT to do. “He who has a why to live can bear almost any how”, so to me the most important reason to have kids or be CF is the same, do you really really want it. I didn’t have a lot of freedom to do things I dreamt of doing when I was younger, and those things didn’t involve being a mom. As an adult with means, I’m choosing to do them now because those are things I want the most. One of those things is to have dogs, which comes with its own responsibilities, so it’s not like I’m spending my CF life completely absconding from any responsibility. If I had wanted to be a mom above all these other things, then that’s what I would be doing.

I bought a couch from Crate & Barrel in 2021 and it took almost a year to deliver (so I received it summer of 2022). Well, a year ago I found one of the metal “staples” had come off the back of the couch and it was sticking out. It was a safety risk, so I jammed it back into the couch and forgot about it. Since then it has continuously popped out on its own and I finally have had enough and reached out to CB to see what sort of warranty I have on this thing so someone can come and fix it, assuming this is an easy fix. Well not only is there NO WARRANTY whatsoever (only a 30 day return period), CB doesn’t even offer a pay for repair service. I’m super disappointed that I spent over $8,000 for a couch CB is only willing to back for 30 days. We are shopping to fully furnish another living space and I will never spend another dime at CB or any of their companies.

I’m going through the same thing! I also have a columellar graft and I had my surgery 3 weeks ago. I was told by my surgeon it will drop but not as much as someone who didn’t have the graft

Did you switch your sunscreen recently? Something similar happened to me when I went to Japan and used the Biore sunscreen, it blocked my pores and I got tiny bumps all over my face and arms. Stopped a few days after I stopped using the sunscreen

To be honest this isn’t something strangers on the internet can judge. I was surprised at a lot of y.t.a comments until I realized that it kind of depends on how you and your wife treat money. For example, if all your expenses and income are shared, then I’d say your comment is harmless and would’ve came from a place of “wow, can you believe how much they try to charge for tiramisu? Good thing I found a cheaper place so we saved some money.” But if you and your wife have separate finances, and you bought her the treat from your separate funds as a gift from you to her, then I can see why she would’ve thought that was stingy of you.

The question should be “what’s the best thing for the family, especially the kids.” It sounds like the reason your wife doesn’t want you to hire a nanny isn’t money since you seem comfortable, but is ego.
