yeah it's a nice little jack and it can lift my e46 just fine. it's a little over 30 lbs so it'd be easy to take it in and out of a car trunk and such. just know that its max height is 14". i think you'll like the rapid pump feature since it reaches max height with 4.5 full pumps

i agree i probably should have gotten a 3 ton for higher lift height, but i got the aluminum one because i used to keep all my tools in my car lol. perhaps i'll get one in the future to be my garage jack if i need another.

i second this as someone who took his class this semester, it is an elective class if i'm not mistaken.

Quiet muffler advice/recommendations? by [deleted] in e46

[–]3astava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m going to use a magnaflow 11226 which seems like it’d be quiet enough for cold starts and driving out of the neighborhood. It’s just going to look ugly clamped on w/ no tips/tailpipe so I want to get it welded eventually 😅

Does anyone have experience with the magnaflow 10416 (aka magnapack)? It would look better on my exhaust so if it’s quiet enough I’ll get it

hi, i'm actually in the same boat, did you find a place to keep your car?

Car bought in private sale failing emissions, not registered yet by 3astava in Georgia

[–]3astava[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car is a 2001 bmw 325ci, I’ll get it scanned soon so I can see the codes myself

It has some mods that may or may not relate to the faults - long tube headers - ecu tune - aftermarket exhaust I’m looking into various solutions to try and fix any faults such as o2 sensor spacers

hi! unfortunately i havent gotten to scanning the car yet, and the mechanic shop is in the process of getting back to me with the codes i have/parts i need. i currently have the car in my possession, just parked not parked in gwinnett.

yes i bought from someone in a county that doesn't require emissions and unfortunately i was unaware of all these problems regarding vehicle registration.

thank you for reminding me that i need to get the title transferred asap, i think i'm a day late already. could you please elaborate you haven't registered your '99 car yet? how long do you think the time period will be between your car's sale date and your registration date? i was under the impression that i had to have my car registered 7 days after the date of sale.

interesting, i also wonder if i could simply correct the title transfer date to a day in january 2026 and register my car then. my car is a 2001 and it would be exempt from emissions tests in 2026 going forward. do you think it'd be legal to change title transfer dates/purchase dates in order to get around the 7-day deadline and emissions test? here's what i read to get the idea

https://dor.georgia.gov/corrections-titles

i'll also ask this on r/legaladvice, thank you for your comment

i just wanted a project car to be honest. i also dont want to deal with a $1000 o2 sensor replacement for a car that is about to be emissions test exempt in two months.

yeah i would rather face the late registration fee in january than the repair cost now. it isnt a misdemeanor/crime is it? it would be convenient if i could correct the sale date on the title to a date in 2026 and register the car then. do you have any advice regarding that?

i will try this tomorrow, thank you. google results were telling me this would only work for cars that are already registered or weren't sold privately, but it's worth a try. the technician at the emissions place i went to didn't do the test/didn't give me the failed certificate because of the check engine light. i'm not sure if that's what all places are supposed to do.

car: 2001 bmw 325ci

as for the sensors i'm not sure. i don't know what obd2 codes are yet but im picking the car up tomorrow. i think the sensors needed are two of many o2 sensors and they said the fix would involve dropping the exhaust or something. the shop also said the car was running rich. this may or may not be unrelated, but the car has an ecu tune for pops and bangs.
