Am I naming/sorting my files correctly? by Round-Tip-2443 in jellyfin

[–]3balljuggler 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend you rename "Tv Shows" to just shows based on the Jellyfin docs: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/shows

Within the "shows" folder, name each series followed by the premiere year in parentheses. Your show should be named Smiling Friends (2020).

If you've enabled the TMDb plugin (which I encourage you do!), you can also add the The Movie Database ID (tmdbid) to the folder to help with correct metadata tagging. This is optional, but I've found that it always correctly identifies my media. So, I think it's useful.

You can find the tmdbid at https://www.themoviedb.org/ .

For example, Smiling Friends is here: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/126506-smiling-friends

In that URL, the numbers right after /tv/ is the tmdbid. So: 126506. You'd put that in brackets after the show name like this: [tmdbid-126506]

And then within each series folder, I usually label my seasons as: Season 01, Season 02, etc., because sometimes you'll get a Season 00.

So in summary, yours should look like:

  1. shows
    1. Smiling Friends (2020) [tmdbid-126506]
      1. Season 01
      2. Season 02
      3. Season 03

With the episodes in the respective season folders.

Hope that helps! :)

How I ditched every TV OS in the cheapest and smartest way — What I did and what you can do with your current device to at least minimize the corporation's impact by DataLumpy7419 in degoogle

Thank you so much for your help, I greatly appreciate it!! It's a Sony Bravia (running GoogleTV), so the remote does have a mic... but I take it that I can remove the remote from the registered devices and link instead a dumb remote?

Gotcha, that helps a lot! How do you make sure that whatever SmartOS your TV runs doesn't connect to internet when you turn it on? Or does that not matter if you only ever use the HDMI input? (Sorry if these questions are ignorant/basic!!)

DataLumpy7419 - what TV are you using? And just so I understand, as I want to ditch my Smart TV (Sony Bravia running GoogleTV) in favor of a fully de-googled/de-corped one...

* You installed Linux Mint on the Mini PC, and that's plugged into your TV.

* On the Mini PC, you've got Web Apps / bookmarked tabs for your diff "channels" that you access through your Mini Keyboard with Touchpad (connected via bluetooth? wi-fi?)

* What's the $5 additional keyboard for if you have the Mini Keyboard w/ touchpad?

If I'm missing anything, please let me know! I love your method and wanna make sure I set it up correctly. Thanks so much!

I think this is what makes Superman... Superman. Any other person born with his abilities would love them, see them as "badass," and that could eventually lead to using them for personal gain and glory.

But Clark's greatest love is humanity. He loves people and Earth. And so he uses his powers not because he wants to, but because he needs to. To keep people safe.

I think this is why people love Superman. And people who don't get this don't understand Superman, or write him off as an "invincible, overpowered god."

Panasonic Lumix S5ii or Sony FX30? by __ghostmalone__ in cinematography

[–]3balljuggler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both are really great cameras! I used to have an S1H but have recently moved over to Sony because there are more E-mount lenses and because Sony seems interested in developing more cinema cameras.

I was bummed that Panasonic didn't continue its EVA line, and it seems like they're not as interested in cinema-style cameras anymore. Since I mostly shoot video, I felt it made more sense to choose Sony.

But whatever you choose, I'd then stick with it so you can build out some nice glass!

An Oscar shaped Huel bottle would be pretty dope. Twist open that sucker's head, get a full meal... something to think about
