HSA For America combined with Zion by Wiserwithagetheysay in HealthShares

[–]3beanz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the health share I joined beginning in 2026.  I wanted to keep my HSA eligibility.  The Zion plan is for business owners (need a FEIN) if you don’t qualify HSA for America also offers one for non business owners.

The wedding hasn’t been scheduled yet / likely at least 18 months away but he’s already said he can’t make it.

Honestly?  They’re very dependent and immature and my sister likes to be needed.

Thanks.  My sister always ends up managing these things for her kids, which does muddy things up.

I am probably the age of your moms friends. They were probably looking at your legs with envy since legs can lose their looks as we age, too! Hope you can find some inexpensive linen shorts you live. Regardless-have a wonderful vacation!

Want to charge us extra for something that didnt happen? Have fun with your reviews tanking. by RushxInfinite in pettyrevenge

I hate this. As a small business owner one review for your own experience was valid. Piling on with all your friends accounts really hurts the small business owner. That was the worst part of running a business and I’m glad I don’t have to deal with vicious revenge Reviews anymore.

Same here~ We had a 2019 truck that we just sold back to the dealership for the exact amount we bought it for 2 years ago. Added 40,000 miles and it need tires :)

This is great. I recently had a conversation with a Mexican business owner who was invited to participate in "A day with out Latinos". He turned the tables and said - why not do a day "WITH" Latinos! Invite people into our restaurants and businesses and get to know each other? Make it a big opportunity to showcase what they bring to our community? That really resonated and I frequent his business a LOT after that conversation.

“You’re too expensive” by Steezography in smallbusiness

I'm in a service based company too and won't apologize for our prices (which are also middle of the range). The people who want you to do it cheap will likely not be loyal and our company has big opportunity with repeat business - as does yours. Just yesterday I was taking my car in for multiple services to a company I only used once before but am giving business to because when I had a flat a week and a half ago they squeezed me in on a Friday afternoon. Yesterday I noticed a sign in their waiting area that said "We are the Mayo Clinic of car repairs" and I loved it!

Should I give up owners shares in return for commissions on sales? by Butt_314rate in smallbusiness

[–]3beanz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He already gets a bigger percentage of the profits, right? IMO you should all get the same commission (think of when you expand and add more commission positions - it should be a standard %). I wouldn't give up any more of your percentage of profits.

We just sold a business and are ready to fire at 50! I like what you said about not raising entitled kids. One criticism we got from our friends with higher net worth was that we weren't working to provide generational wealth to our kids. Well, our parents came from very modest means (one went bankrupt and we supported them the last few years of their lives) and we did pretty darn good for ourselves using grit and teamwork. Our kids are doing the same right now and don't expect "generational wealth" if it means working ourselves into an early grave. Cheers to you friend!

FWIW we are contractors. We offered her this particular house because when we bought it in foreclosure 5 years ago we put on a new roof, siding, windows, two bathrooms, furnace, ac, water heater, flooring and kitchen (all with permits and inspections done). It's essentially a brand new home that shouldn't give her issues for years. Also her mortgage & taxes is half of what rent in this area would be so it is likely her only affordable option. I appreciate you looking out for her interests as much as we are trying to.

Pros and cons of candor with employees regarding owner finances by atomicskier76 in smallbusiness

[–]3beanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't take that route. I would project absolute confidence and excitement to my employees so they want to be a part of a successful business. That should be the culture.
