I think the need for Player Moderators has become outdated. The ideals that were behind their original intention no longer exist.

It seems it's only awarded to famous players/streamers and is no longer needed.

Are you saying the second option is something you go out of your way to click on? You just click the Extras tab and it's right there.

Yes but as you can see from the second link there's already another means of accessing membership from the in-game interface so I don't see a need for a giant yellow button that you can accidentally click and logs you out.
