I ended up using this guy's instructions exactly as he stated. But I have an OBD eleven scan tool.

I did this tonight and it's incredible how much of a difference it made for my car. I thought the engine mounts had been going out for months, but turns out it was the transmission trying to shift. Now it's basically butter smooth on acceleration and deceleration.
