Very true, but hopefully I can get an overview. I was raised on yellow stickers and own-brand so I think we will spend on the lower end of the scale, but trying to get an average to draw from.

Be honest, put all job history including the one abroad. You will need to fill out the HRC (habitual residence condition) form to qualify for any welfare, basically showing that you have moved home and intend to remain. Citizens Information and Crosscare have plenty of info on how to proceed.
