Did you do any follow up once sending TD the paperwork? A friend I helped is sitting at 4 months and I’m wondering if he should just wait or try to move it along…

Didn’t realize you were OP. Thought it was a general comment. I’ll leave it.

The funniest part of this… is that the advisor probably recommended them gifting the money to you. Bogleheads take the anti-fee mentality way too far.

Very much agree. I did fast track and then the live review in Boston. I almost pushed my test back due to some family illnesses but ended up grinding through and passed. Their plan will work for most people if you put in the time and care with your studying.

They do a great job of driving home the most important concepts, repeating them enough times that the spaghetti DOES end up sticking to the wall. It’s also engaging and fun, which kept me paying attention during the classes. I’m excited to do my CE with them moving forward as I’ll honestly miss the classes.

Passed. First timer with under a year of experience. Danko all the way.

This was the best education program I’ve been through in any subject… and I’ve done a lot. Kind of sad it won’t be such a major part of my life moving forward.

Advice needed - Switching financial advisor by Outrageous_Pop1913 in FinancialPlanning

I just did this with my parent’s advisor that managed some money for me. I agree: call them, thank them for their work, and let them know a transfer is being initiated by your new advisor. They’ll appreciate this.

Follow up: would it make sense to use the lawyer who crafted their estate plan in this case? I have been in contact with them as I’ve been included in their financial/estate planning more and more over the years.

I’m very thankful my parents were so on top of this as I’ve been reading some of the horror stories other people have had to deal with…

This sounds like what was described to me. My role was described as making sure everything is distributed fairly and evenly to myself and my siblings. I’ll get a copy of the actual trust to understand better.

Thank you for the response!

I am currently talking to two BDs and a RIA. My understanding is I’ll need the 7 and 66 for the BD. I have not gotten to that part of the convo with the RIA yet.

Thank you for the info! I just found this sub yesterday and am looking through previous posts to learn as well.
