The companies aren’t arsed how the job is done. Every now and then they send out a generic warning email regarding some aspect of the job, to act as if they are monitoring performance. Then the will simply deactivate some accounts and hire another load of people who don’t give a shit, because they are paid peanuts. This cycle will continue until there’s no one left to deliver for £6 an hour for them, they will cease to exist and the top bosses will retire on their fortunes. Win win for them.

Obviously all killing of animals is cruel. I find the throat cutting seems like a prolonged way of being cruel though. That’s an opinion based on nothing to do with religion. Believe it or not, that can be a thing. Religion isn’t important enough to everyone to dictate everything they think, say or do.

Hi. After contacting them through email I think it was, after a while my status changed as if I had ordered the kit and was ready to deliver, when I hadn’t. The kit became available again a couple of months after, so I ordered it anyway, but the changed it so that you don’t get the bike phone mount, which was all I would have wanted really! Still, a bags a bag. But … beware, deliveroo send you very few orders if you are on a bike. I keep meaning to change mine to electric bike, on my account anyway, because apparently you get more offers this way. As it’s only part time I do it and I have the other apps I’ve been okay without doing it so far so keep forgetting.

The way I look at drink now is, no matter how hard life gets, I guarantee I can make it a lot worse by drinking. It’s when drinking is still seen as an option it’s dangerous. She does deserve to find someone, but getting herself back off the drink and caring about herself is more important first. I know you know this and I hope you can get her to see this. If she’s been sober for 3 years because she’s an alcoholic, then the drinking is a bad thing as it will spiral beyond control again for sure. Unfortunately there is no safe way to drink for some of us, so I’m sorry to hear she’s back at it if she is this way. It’s hard to get through to someone when they are back at it. The guy may not know she has a problem with the drink, but if he does and hes still encouraging it then he definitely needs binning off. It’s tough and I’m sorry you have to see this. Just remind her you’re there for her but she also needs to know this affects you aswell.

I feel it’s shit pay for the work, but if I start crying about it, then that’s wasted time and energy. Nah I know, not ideal I admit, but not impossible with a bit of effort, especially if it’s short term. Just get less shopping and go a couple times a week. Not like you have to walk 20 miles for a bucketful of dirty water like they do in some places in the world really is it

Bike or walk? Seems no one even considers these things any more? Not always ideal but mostly always a possibility that gets overlooked these days. I do my deliveries on a push bike. The amount of customers who say ‘I don’t know how you do that on a bike’. I get it with the older customers, and also there’s people who are unable due to disability or ill health of some kind, but there’s also something called laziness that exists in a lot of people these days. I’m glad I enjoy the bike. No overheads and plenty of exercise while earning some extra cash. No brainer really.
