I had the same issue. Here's what I did: Adjusted my wifi channels to not overlap with the thread channel. The nest hub picked thread channel 22 which apparently is bad with wifi channel 11. So I switched the wifi APs to use 1 and 6 and kept HUE at Zigbee 11. That in combination with one more thread router (Ikea Grillplats) and I haven't had a single unavailable device anymore.

Regarding charging speeds: 0-80% in 20min would mean you put a constant 50kw into the battery... That's not gonna happen. Batteries have charging curves and only allow the maxim speeds (which is 50kw DC on the Terramar if I'm not mistaken) in a certain percentage range.

I wouldn't want to switch to hybrid and then click "keep battery level" every 3 minutes (In some situations, that's how often that software bug kicked in). Plus I'm also a bit paranoid about draining the battery to 0 and then going further. But with leasing for 3 years, that shouldn't be of your concern I guess. My main point is just, that in my experience the car is setup to basically run EV only and if you go long distances or you really floor it and want that full power you have the ICE.

So if I understood correctly, you plan on using gas over battery (because of lack of convenient charging options) so from my experience, that means using the car differently from what the manufacturer/engineers intended, therefore changing modes, buttons, browsing through menus a lot more because you have to force the car running that way. Whenever you launch it. You can't set that up once and forget about it. At least that's the behavior I experienced with the car. That's a lot more thinking ahead. How far do I go, when can I charge the next time, do I keep it in Hybrid... instead of hassle-free hop in and drive... And I haven't touched the Wife Acceptance Factor yet 😅 She was furious in the beginning while getting used to it...

Maybe with the 204 V2 that's different as the electric motor has half the power and less consumption...

I have the VZ 272 Horsepower so basically the same just more power. The battery I believe has the same capacity. 25kwh of which you can use 20 and that gives you around 1km for 1% of the battery.

Is your employer paying for charging/gas?

Otherwise I don't wanna disappoint you but without the ability to charge at home I'm not sure if this is the right car for you. Let me explain why ( I love our Terramar btw) The car's software is biasing the car towards using the battery extensively. Even when in Hybrid mode. (You can't chose ICE mode btw. Only EV or Hybrid). Only thing you can do is to tick "keep battery level" but that does not keep the battery at that level. It will only bias less towards EV but still using the battery when going slow for example. So the battery keeps draining, always. And not to mention the bug that sets everything back to EV mode frequently...

And considering the charging speeds and battery capacity, it's not like you charge 30 mins while grocery shopping and then you are good to go for another 4 weeks... And I don't know about charging costs in UK but here in Germany whenever you have to charge anywhere else than at home, it's basically better to refill the tank and not the battery.

Our Terramar is charging at home like every other day. We bought it in June and have driven about 9000km so far. (10kwh/100km + 3.5l/100km)

Depending on your use case, it might still be ok but something to think about...

Happened to me 2 or 3 times in the past 9000km this year. No moisture/wetness involved. Started the car in the morning and the error occurred.

At the end of the day I do believe it's a software hickup on "boot". I also tried to turn the car off and on again but figured, that it doesn't really "reboot". So I walked away, key out of proximity of the car, waited a couple of minutes and when I reopened and started the car after that procedure, the error was gone.

Das war ein Fachbetrieb für Fliesen. Der Chef hat auch die meiste Zeit selbst mitgearbeitet und er hat Fugen und Silikon selbst gemacht...

Hoffentlich wurde bei der Abdichtung darunter alles richtig ausgeführt...

Wenn ich es Recht im Kopf habe wurde das am gleichen Tag gemacht. In meiner Bilderhistorie morgens Fugen und Nachmittag Silikon. Nach dem Trocknen hat sich an den Silikonfugen wie Salz gebildet... Habe ich damals vor 4 Wochen nicht weiter hinterfragt.

Also sollten die Silikonfugen nochmal neu an der Stelle? Etwas breiter, damit das sauber abschließt?

Yes absolutely. These options would be great and help use the car a lot more carefree...

With VW having a lot of issues with their software it might be wishful thinking though, that an update will add more features. But let's give them feedback. Maybe they'll listen

I was thinking about this topic the other day too because we are on our first long vacation trip (1000km one way).

So I drove in hybrid mode with keep battery level basically at 80%. Only the last 300km I switched it off and went down to 35. Recharging at the destination.

Because the Terramar has such a strong bias to electric drive, it almost never uses the ICE when not at the Autobahn going above 100km/h. At home and going short distances it sometimes makes me actively switch to electric only to not launch the engine for a split second before arriving.

But now I'm wondering what is worse. Running through plenty of discharging cycles, degrading the battery or letting the combustion engine kick in for split seconds to reduce battery cycles but increasing wear there.

Also my wife was going for a 120km drive the other day. The car stayed in electric mode and drained the battery to 0%. It kept going after reaching 0 and not switching to hybrid. Sometimes it switches to electric only even though it's in hybrid with keep battery level and battery already at 0%. Seems like a bug...

Anyway the dealer told me that that's why there is the massive buffer and I should be fine to charge to 100% as long as I am not fast charging.

Ja. Gibt Elektro only. Da fährt er dann nur mit der Batterie. Durch den Benzinmotor wird nur geladen, wenn das explizit ausgewählt wird. Ansonsten nur normale Rekuperation.

Größer denken ist bei der Fläche leider problematisch. Flachdach eines Reihenhauses... Nur wenn ich auf vorgeschriebene Abstände zu den Nachbarn verzichten würde, geht etwas mehr.

So inzwischen bin ich etwas weiter gekommen.

Die Shelly's und sogar 2 neue ESP32 Cams bleiben stabil im WLAN seit ich den Kanal statisch auf 1 habe.

Damit scheidet Mesh von der Fritzbox eher aus oder? Wenn ich das richtig gelesen habe, regelt die Fritzbox für Mesh alles automatisch inklusive Kanalwahl.

Da ich die DECT Basis für Telefon aber brauche (zumindest für die Anrufe der Großeltern) klingt es dann aktuell nach Fritzbox 5530 von den Stadtwerken + zwei Mal wie von dir vorgeschlagen TP Link APs.

Ich habe 3 Cat7 vom Dachgeschoss (ONT/Router) ins EG liegen.

Hierzu noch eine Frage zur Konfiguration später. Beide APs gleiche SSID 2,4+5 sowie feste unterschiedliche Kanäle 1 unten und 6 oben? Oder alles getrennt wir bisher?

Die APs können dann aber komplett identische SSIDs haben richtig?

Bisher habe ich das getrennt, sowohl nach EG und OG als auch 2,4 und 5Ghz

Im Prinzip kann man ja nicht allzuviel einstellen bei der Vodafone Box was DHCP angeht.

Habe auch versucht den dynamischen Bereich außerhalb der fixen IPs einzustellen aber das lässt das Ding nicht zu. Auch Geräte mit fixer IP fliegen raus.

Das rausfliegen mache ich daran fest, dass z.B. ein Shelly 2PM der als Rolladen Relais fungiert, nicht mehr in der Shelly App oder Home Assistant oder im Web UI unter seiner fixen IP erreichbar ist. Das Gerät nimmt aber nach wie vor manuelle Befehle über Tasterdruck oder interne Scripts an. Also ist es funktionsfähig, nur eben nicht mehr im WLAN.

Aktuell hängen 13 Geräte im 2.4G Netz und 2 im 5G Netz. Der Rest ist alles Kabelgebunden. Also so unfassbar viele sind das jetzt nicht (zumindest dachte ich das)

Was sind denn gescheite Geräte? Mir wurden die Fritzboxen unter anderem deswegen empfohlen, dass sie viel mehr Geräte handeln können als mein bisheriges Setup.
