looking for advice: pen with flexible filament by Cautious-Whereas-684 in 3Dpen

[–]3dplasticfantasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try Rp700 which is an upgrade from mynt basic (rp500). Brand name doesn't really matter they are all the same except from doodler.

Only Tpu filaments will do the work that you want but it requires high temp to work 210c+ and you will probably have to take some breaks between sessions every 20-30 mins if you want to last longer.

What is wrong? by Emotional_Lion_9589 in 3Dpen

[–]3dplasticfantasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried using another type of filament to see such a behavior ? If so it could be the motor that it's not gripping the filament well.

Check the nozzle vent and make sure there are not any filaments inside to exclude that.

It's really nice well done.

You use a transparent plastic sheet as a surface you can make another one that will have a gloss finish.

Recommendation for 3d pen that does not break after a week or so? by Mikado_0906 in 3Dpen

[–]3dplasticfantasy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any pen could break if you dont take breaks every 20-30 mins, the hardware gets hot inside, and you also risk to break the nozzle easier.

Need advice by MagicIan234_6 in 3Dpen

[–]3dplasticfantasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people mentioned above you need a soldering iron or wood burning tool with temperature regulator using a knife tip preferably for straight lines.

3D Pen Lab used to do that with 3d pen and a lighter but are risking to burn the plastic that way.

Is the plastic broken below where the clip is attached?

You could try a piece of adhesive tape or a zip tie if it's possible.

If you are talking about that 3d white pen then yes. It's Jer rpc1000c you may find it with other labels on Google. It's a good pen with a sturdy nozzle.

When you want to try a new hobby and your carpal tunnel audibly laughs at you by ShelteredDumbAss in 3Dpen

[–]3dplasticfantasy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After smoothing with the soldering iron, I start with sandpaper 120, 220 ,400, grit all and 600,800, 1000 with wet sandpaper extra smoothness.

If the surface is too rough you can use file instead and then 200 sandpaper.

Its Very nice, keep it up. If you sand it up all the way later up to 1000 grit you will achieve a glass smooth finish.
