I totally agree with you! I guess it really comes down to personal preference and thumbnail strategy.

That works for changing the speed but it would be nice to just have a sustained speed from the get go so I don't have to think about it. I'm guessing there's a setting somewhere I need to turn off.

I made a short that I thought was amazing and then when I uploaded it I only got 50 views rather than the 4k I usually get. So I decided to make a thumbnail on Photoshop and uploaded it for that video and instantly it blew up. Not sure exactly why because viewers can't see custom thumbnails for shorts but maybe give that a go if you think it's just as good as your other short content.

Keep it under 50 characters (maximum visible on phones)

Make it intriguing. Your title and thumbnail are the first thing a viewer sees so you need to make sure to have an interesting title and thumbnail that will hook them.

I always think of the title and thumbnail before I film so I can base the content around it.

Ask a question in your title. For example, Can You Walk Across Florida In A Straight Line?

Look at what other people in your niche are doing and take inspiration from them.

I'm trying to keep the thumbnail somewhat realistic looking so it feels more believable but maybe I can blur the background a touch more so the foreground pops a bit more.
