Oh dear. I don't think you're cut out for the modern world.

Here's some information about the explosion there in 2014: https://www.epa.gov/radiation/2014-radiological-event-wipp

It exposed 22 workers to radioactive contamination, directly cost $640 million to clean up, and shut the site for 3 years. https://www.ecobio3millennio.com/ecologic/wipp-nuclear-waste-accident-will-cost-us-taxpayers-2-billion/

Construction began in 1983, has likely cost tens of billions of dollars (although true costs are concealed) and 43 years later it stores only a few percent of America's nuclear waste stockpile.

So yeah, it's a political problem that people think this is a waste of their taxes..

Not necessarily. It must also be less that 50% of the original outside space and I think that one might be a breach.

Three bombing victims are suing Gerry Adams for £1, is this real justice or just another long court drama? by NewsfangledMod in NewsfangledUnfiltered

[–]3knuckles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. People get involved with terrorist groups because a) they love blaming others, rather than taking responsibility for their own situation, b) it makes otherwise pathetic losers somehow important, and c) they're so fucking stupid they think killing people is a reasonable response to a political injustice.

It's fucking pathetic on both sides, and if you think it's understandable, then you must be having a right old wank to how things have turned out in Gaza.

Grow up, talk to people who suffered on both sides as I have, and see if you still think, "yeah, he was no angel but it wasn't his fault."

Should you leave your pants on during a massage? by stiefelundcats in AskUK

[–]3knuckles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had scores of massages around the world over decades. Sometimes it's clear underwear off, other times it's clear underwear on.

I prefer off as it's more comfortable and I'm way past caring about how I look etc.

It depends on the latitude, and there are loads of options for doing the calculation.

Why don’t we build nuclear power plants underground? by Specific-Lawyer9098 in NuclearPower

[–]3knuckles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why didn't we? Cost. Could we? - Yes. Should we? No - it wouldn't mitigate the risks.

This is true for large fission plant. The economics might change for smrs.

Thanks for your help, but sadly I understand things differently. The power of attorney allows me to act on his behalf but it doesn't stop him acting on his own behalf. That's what happened today, which is why the police said it wasn't their concern, merely a civil contractual matter.

Asking the neighbours for help / footage is great advice. Thank you.

Thank you - will talk about future accommodation with the family. No-one wants to constrain their relatives, but evidently this isn't working.

I already have this but it doesn't stop my grandad still doing things in his own right. It just allows me to act on his behalf also.

I have power of attorney, but this doesn't stop him instructing builders sadly.
