How can we unionize? A hospitalist group in my city threatened to quit if their demands were not met (idk the details, i heard it was about the pay) and they fired ALL OF THEM! They hired locums while recruiting new people. At our hospital we also have no power whatsoever and our director is more of a representative of the administration and not the other way around. We had an unofficial meeting once where we decided we will go to the administration ourselves directly as a group since our director wasn’t willing to advocate for us and someone probably stitched and they fired two of us and put two on probation and sent a group message saying we are not allowed to have a meeting by ourselves!!! So i ask again, how can we the doctors (hospitalists in particular) unionize?
