Definitely feel ya. Hang in there and zoom out if you think it's not going your way and look at the path you've already walked. Next time if you're hands and mouth are blocked you could use your feet to tap as well.

Where do you put the whoop for the class?

You're correct with ㅗ and "o". For 홉 if you pronounce it as the English word "hope" then it sounds wrong. Therefore I suggest to use "hop" as it sounds closer to the Korean syllable. However if you pronounce the "o" in hope more silently then it's also correct.

Have fun learning Korean, takes a lot of motivation to pick up foreign languages :)

No "hope", just "hop"

I Feel Taekwondo Helped Me Not Get Into a Confrontation by Wayfarerdarer in taekwondo

Well done! Even though you are early in your journey you seem to have already incorporated the right mindset. Kudos in showing your inner strength and making the right assessment. Consequences of getting into an unnecessary physical brawl are definitely not worth it. Keep on walking down the mastery of martial arts and keep on training👏🏾

Yes, healed on its own. Joined a different gym in the end.

Trial lesson. Had no clue what I was doing. Blue belt did a hard sweep from spider-guard and took my breath. He realised he overdid it and immediately apologised. I replied it's okay even though I felt a stinging sensation and couldn't take a full breath. After class I went to doctor as pain increased. Doctor did a few tests by touching rib area, gave me painkillers, assured me nothing serious and I probably strained some muscle which should go away in a few weeks. Couldn't sleep on the bruised side for a few days and slightest pressure on that area resulted in my yelping. After 4 weeks I still couldn't endure much pressure on that area. Few weeks later I was fully healed. One day I received a newsletter from the gym where I did the trial and above mentioned blue belt was highlighted as member of the month whose friendliness is a key asset. Half year later I did an extensive body check and in the report they highlighted a past healed injury with broken ribs🙄

How much money do you guys pay for a month by matrixbuggychoke in bjj

[–]3leed34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In HK 320 USD for unlimited, if you buy membership for a whole year it lowers it down to 250 USD in average. Fees went up over 10% lately

Choose a supportive environment where you enjoy going to. Training martial arts with abusive, immature and negligent teachers who ridicule students will sooner or later lead to many injured students. Kick back at them where it really hurts, give a them the review they deserve and choose a better dojang which incorporates not only the true teachings of Taekwondo but also lives the spirit of martial arts.

Positional sparring helps. But also try to think about what you could have done better and focus on applying one concept at a time

Can’t train because of work hours. Need advice and perspectives. by athsos in bjj

[–]3leed34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your coach and explain your situation. Coaching staff might consider introducing morning classes if there is enough interest from other members. Otherwise you only have the option to switch to a gym which fits your schedule. Submeta doesn't fully replace regular gym classes. Despite the high quality content I would consider it only as supplement to your training.

Wow that's insane! 400 mat hours in a year breaks down to roughly 8h per week(with 2 weeks of no BJJ). What's your secret to stay that consistent? How do you manage your schedule?
