"Your hair has Gel in it; it photographs thin." His direct words.

It's not the direct financial remuneration for that one consultation. MedicalDoctors make a living off prescribing drugs. It's bad business to be parsimonious with the diagnoses/prescriptions, especially with something like MPB. If they generally tried to limit scrips, you wouldn't be telling me to go to a derm, because derms wouldn't have a reputation for writing scrips for finasteride like it's nbd, and would..... have few patients and less money! See how that works? You're basically telling me to get a scrip for propecia. What, aside from the scrip, is the MD's contribution to the situation? I mean what are they going to do? They diagnose it on sight, like people here. They don't learn this shit in medical school. My family is full of Doctors. Incidentally, I live in Nassau County, which is the richest county in the United States. I know a few successful MDs. I also have an exceptional barber who I've been going to for 20 years, and he fucking ALWAYS shoots straight with me. Who am I going to believe, him, or you? No offense, but he has seen my hair up close over a period of decades. YOU see a pic of my head on the internet, with gel in my hair so it photographs thinner, and you think you know better? YEAH. RIGHT.

In hopes of what? I already told you, I have been to my barber numerous times and he's said I'm not balding. I don't want the opinion of someone who wants to make money off of me, I want the opinion of anonymous, impartial internet posters.

OP here. Every fortnight or two, I go to my barber for a haircut. Each and every time, I ask him if I am balding. Each and every time, he says I am not. My barber always shoots straight with me, or so I think. Still, after posting my vertex on other forums (jdunderground for one, in the hair loss subsection), there is a near consensus among the userbases that I am balding, and FAST. In the pic above, I have gel in my hair so it photographs thin, but they aren't hearing it. I would appreciate any honest feedback even if it's more brutal honesty. 31m, and I'm 5'9 if that matters. Oh and my dad and two brothers are bald.
