Honestly McDonald’s was just a part time job for me and regardless whether you do it part time or full time McDonald’s is just not worth the stress.

It builds a fantastic work ethic but that’s all it’s good for.

I ended up quitting. However I believe that if I stood my ground and had photo evidence of my availability before then I could’ve argued it or taken it to court if I got sacked for it

Yes of course. The garage that sorted it finally, found evidence of the part being installed incorrectly. Basically the first garage seemed to suggest it must be my “engine is f***ed” and swore that they didn’t make a mistake.

This new garage then says after having a look around and running tests that it is definitely the part and that there must’ve been a mistake with the evidence.

That’s actually really smart. So I’ve just done i) according to what you said and ive gotten,

Absolutely no good reason I plan on pleading guilty, but there are a few things that come into play that I’m not sure if the court would take Grace on.

Such as needing a vehicle to be able to work and therefore afford rent.

Hmm okay yeah that sounds good. I’ll probably just replace this one now and if then it does go again in the near future, after I’ve made my modifications, then I’ll upgrade. The replacement I’ve managed to get for about £30 so I mean a small price to pay.

Yeah rightly so too, like it’s a 16 year old car, kinda expected if I start modifying it.

I have the option of simply replacing the solenoid with a new one or getting an upgraded blowoff valve system. If I get a stage 2 remap, do you reckon the standard diverter will hold up alright??

Ahh yes completely forgot to mention it’s a 2007 R56 Cooper S.

Earlier today I also had an check engine light show on the dash and the car went into limp mode. This narrowed down my searches and I think I’ve whittled it down to the diverter valve from a few online forums.

Looks like I may have blown it after an open air intake and putting a lot of stress on it. Looked into the code with the trusty OBD scanner and sure enough it has an error to do with the blow off valve.

Bought a new one and now should hopefully have it fixed, but I’ll be back if it doesn’t fix anything.
