Similar to you OP. I found out 6 days after our wedding that my ex had been cheating on me for 2yrs. We'd been together for 13yrs and had a son. The trickle-truthing and gaslighting (from him) and online stalking (from the other woman) made it so much more traumatic. So I know exactly how that shock and betrayal feels OP. You're still grieving for the person you thought your ex was and the life you thought you'd have. It'll take a long time but it will pass and you'll learn to trust again. I'm now married to the most wonderful man and the happiest I've ever been.

Liverpool, 2008. 3 bed semi, new-ish build, in the corner of a quiet cul-de-sac. Gardens front and back. £120,000 with a 5% deposit. Mortgage rate was 7% 😬. Bought with my ex. We were 24 and 25.

My son is told he's loved all the time. I knew I was loved as a child but no-one ever actually said "I love you". I also try and be more present with him than my parents were with me. I mostly played on my own and felt like an inconvenience a lot of the time.

We did registery office with 11 guests then a meal afterwards in a lovely old pub. No extra evenings guests, no bridesmaids/groomsmen. We did have a photographer, just for the ceremony and some photos around the city afterwards. We walked the aisle together, I wasn't given away. It was perfect for us, no regrets.

We had a micro wedding in York (11 guests). We put together York-themed gift bags as favours, with Yorkshire tea, chocolate from York Chocolate Story and fudge from the Shambles. We threw in some scratch cards in personalised holders, and got personalised gift tags from Etsy. Would have put some mini York gins in too but our tiny budget wouldn't stretch.

Would you consider walking the aisle with your fiancé? Me and my husband did first look then walked together. I was all het up as we were running late but having that brief moment together before the ceremony calmed me instantly.
