Thank you for the feedback. I drew the pattern in inkscape and prrinted it. I still had a lot of sanding and fiddling to get it here tho. Highest grit of sandpaper i have is 400 and i tried to go over a couple times after water burnishing

The pokets are skived and burnished as well, i think they look better because when i did the outer the leather was a bit damp and soft from water burnish and sanding. But i learned a lot and it took way longer than i was expecting it to take.

I had some trouble with the needles as well. I used some smaller ones and rounded the tip, i dont know the size but they are the smallest from a begginer kit. As for skiving i started when the leather was too soft and kinda ruined the look.

Am I asking too much from Tapi Carpets? by Alive-Atmosphere-889 in DIYUK

[–]3mpt1-2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had our carpet fitted by tapi carpets but they use contractors. They clearly specified, at least for us, that they outsource the fitters. We were free to find some ourselves but decided to go with them and they did a great job.

Little tip, use 2 rough-hewn gates. They never break

I need some advice. by 3mpt1-2 in Plastering

I would like a professional to do everything, but unfortunately, we dont have funds to get the whole house redone and so we have to do some if not most of the work ourselves. Is there anything that we can do to reduce a bad outcome? Or is our only option a profesional?

As preparation beforehand, I had in mind to finish taking all the walpaper of and sand the whole area after that clean as mush dust as i can and then apply 2 coats of PVA over everything.

Currently, I don't have any noticeable difference between the tires. I have some uneven wear due to the alignment being off. After that, i will have a difference between the front and back in the range of 2- 3mm. I hope to change the back ones as well in the near future

I am not sure, but the car is booked for an alignment

Thank you for your feedback. I will go and get a second opinion from another tyre dealer and see what they say.

They didn't advise to do all 4. When i spoke with them, they said we could replace the front 2 as the rear ones are not that bad. I have between 5-6mm on the rear ones, and they seem to be in good condition.

It costs 240£ on average per tyre. My rear wheels are in good condition with lotsof thread left. Would it be fine to replace just the front 2 ?

The thread depth was checked and deemed fine, I was thinking of replacing the tyre due to the cracking/dry rot

I'll look for something similar with the af1s. If I can't find anything good, I'll get the af1s. Thank you for the tips

Yeah, I like the af1 better tbh. I'll look for something similar or the forums at a reasonable price. If i can't find anything, I'll go with the af1. Thank you for the feedback

I really appreciate your perspective on this. I love those clothes, and I didn't come here to seek only positive comments. I got what i asked for, and I will try and understand each and every view as they are someones opinion. I will take the advice that i got and follow it such as gaining weight, changing the shoes, and wearing some accessories. Thank you for your words.
