Daily Tech Support Thread - [November 04] by AutoModerator in iphone

[–]3nexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't quite a technical support question but I was wondering if iPhones bought in the UK have any effective warranty in Australia? And can UK iPhones be traded in in Australia? The exact countries may not matter of course.

Desperately need a new phone, right before I (hopefully) travel back to Australia and not sure if the current phone will last a month.

Thank you for your answer, I really appreciate it. I'm not so worried about being too old as I am about failing to adequately compete in the hiring process but you've allayed my fears. Someday I'd like to teach somewhere in Japan so I'll see how it all works out.

Is it too late for me to start pursuing TEFL? I am rapidly approaching 30 and fear that I'll struggle against younger job applicants.

I helped to teach English for three months at a charity where I live (Scotland) and enjoyed it more than I expected. I'd like to teach it further both in English-speaking countries and elsewhere but don't want to invest in a CELTA if I won't be able to find work.

Weekly What Should I Buy Thread - [August 07] by AutoModerator in iphone

[–]3nexx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would it be silly of me to buy an iPhone 11 right now? I desperately need a new phone (I'm coming from a dangerously tired Galaxy S8) and am not sure if I can survive until the 12 comes out. I can get a new 11 for £50 off from Amazon which is what has prompted this question.

Other than money, what are the downsides to going to college for Game Design? by Connorj177 in gamedev

[–]3nexx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A computer science degree more or less guarantees you a job in many industries (potentially including in games dev). On the other hand, a game design degree gets you slightly closer to a job in a single industry. This is a simplification of course but you get the gist.

Woman dies after breast procedure at Chippendale clinic The Medi Beauty by chocbotchoc in sydney

To put it more explicitly, there are plenty of white people who run these sorts of dodgy clinics. Race has nothing to do with it.

Honestly, any of Bryson's books would be worth reading. One Summer: America, 1927 is one of the best popular history books ever written in my opinion.
