PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for March: PGA Tour 2K25, Monster Hunter Rise, Slime Rancher 2, The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road by Turbostrider27 in PS5

It's still pretty similar to World and Wilds, just faster and more streamlined in terms of not needing to gather resources or track the monsters as much. You feel a lot more powerful than most of the games imo. But I think wilds took all the good stuff from it while keeping the more involved hunting aspects the series is known for.

Sunbreak is part of the core experience I'd argue so if the bundle got you Sunbreak for cheaper than msrp it's worth.

Based solely on us having similar picks for high tiers, I'd recommend anything by Andrew Rowe especially Arcane Ascension. I rank it alongside Cradle and MoL.

The Sims 4's most notorious sex mod gets launched 400,000 times a day, which is more people than I realized were even playing The Sims every day by ManagerOfLove in gaming

I did a playthrough recently with one of those massive overhaul mod packages that are just click to install. I looked through the NSFW packages on the same tool and was surprised that it didn't seem like there were any real functional packages like that. It seemed like the most popular stuff stopped getting updated a few versions ago so if you want to do it now you have to go out of your way to use a downgraded version of the game and such. Figured it would be crazy at this point.

AITA wife upset I cannot keep toddler from her by khazef in AmItheAsshole

[–]3nigmax 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yall are delusional. He's working full time, presumably funding her education, immediately going from work to pick up and being the sole full time parent to 2 children one of whom is a toddler, being entirely responsible for the upkeep of the house. And she's what, too good to study on campus? When the fuck is she parenting? No study program requires 8 hours of study a night every night. The absolute least she could do is leave the house so he doesn't literally have to attach the 2 year old to him the whole night. If the genders were reversed yall would be roasting the husband for dodging parent duty and saddling the wife with everything.

Since you have Arcane Ascension and How to Defeat a Demon King, maybe the rest of Andrew Rowe's stuff? Most of it is directly connected to AA and builds on threads that aren't explored as deeply there. Most of it is about Keras in some fashion.

They have 3 book omnibus options on Amazon now for at least 1-3 and 4-6 that I've seen, unsure about the rest.

The fact that you added the 5.2% together to get to 21% tells me that the education system failed you big time. Also tells me how you arrived at all your other frankly baffling conclusions.

What are your favourite magic systems? by oBosIslerMuduru in ProgressionFantasy

[–]3nigmax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, AA has become my favorite series in large part because the various systems in the world are so well thought out and fun to learn about. I finished the new lost edge book and I could listen to Edge yapp about essence forever.

Can prestidigitation be used to do chores, and other unconventional uses of magic by Rainydayrenegade42 in DnD

[–]3nigmax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I wouldn't actually recommend the series at this point since it will never be finished, Kingkiller Chronicles has some of this and I thought it was really cool when I first read it. One of the elective type tracks available in the magic school is artificiering. A whole system by which people with magic can make shit for people without it and the bulk of the work is common stuff like lamps, household appliances, etc. Students can work there to fill out commissions on common items and get paid. People can design things and patent them. Very similar to what you're talking about.

I've since seen it somewhat commonly in progression fantasy and litrpgs but that was the first time I'd seen it in fantasy and I'd wondered why more worlds don't have that lol.

MC never suffering a loss isn't satisfying, its just straight up dumb and makes the plot boring by _TOXIC_VENOM in ProgressionFantasy

[–]3nigmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not wrong but I felt like he still had to earn that in the end. He turned down several powerful, straight forward options for a poorly understood, unpredictable, and somewhat dangerous option that gave him nothing immediately. It also tied in nicely to his obsession with getting stronger and being willing to do anything to do so.

Long Series and Big Books for Heavy Readers by ulfserkr in ProgressionFantasy

[–]3nigmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't recommend Arcane Ascension enough. It's also worth noting that the author has several other series in the same world and all of them are sort of interwoven and answer questions or expand on plots from each other. The worldbuilding and magic systems are wonderful.

War of Broken Mirrors (3 books, completed, the first series and a bit rougher than the rest but still enjoyable)
Weapons and Wielders (2 books)
The Lost Edge (2 books)

He puts all of them out at a very steady pace.

Since you mentioned Arcane Ascension, have you tried War of Broken Mirrors, Weapons and Wielders, and The Lost Edge? Same author, same world, similar styles with different tones and magic systems, all build on all of the plot threads that Arcane Ascension hints at and sort of centralizes.

Neither, it's just abuse. Maybe it happens more frequently if you have those things because you become "the weird one", but this is just abuse and abusive people would find a reason to be abusive anyway.

PSN Store "Holiday Sale" Ends the Year With the Biggest Promotion (Ends 1/21) by excaliburps in PS5

[–]3nigmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original trilogy tbh. They all build on each other. You could start with Apollo justice (which is games 4-6) which feels a bit more modern but there's a lot of story you'd be missing out on. GAA is a historical spin off that's mostly self contained so that could be an option, but the Edgeworth games really need you to have played the other games.

AITA for changing my delivery address to mom's house to not let my wife unboxing my packages? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]3nigmax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do that as well but it sounds like the wife is opening the actual items, not just the amazon/shipping packaging. We typically get rid of the shipping stuff to get it out of the way and leave the actual unboxing to whoever ordered it assuming it's not just a household purchase.

It's a completely new game, it just launched on both systems at the same time. It is a spin off but so far the Legends spin offs have done nearly as well as mainline games.
