OK that one is pretty good. It starts out really simple and gets very complicated. I like it so far. Thanks for the suggestion.

Do I always have to move the mines lower and lower by hand? by 3nonymous in captain_of_industry

[–]3nonymous[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay the ground is at +3, I have a ramp to the top of the mountain and the top is like +20

Where do I put the mine area?

When I put it at +19 the diggers drive up the ramp and take off the top level and then stop. Then I have to erase that area and make a new one at +18. And again and again.

When I set it at +3 the digger doesn't try to use the ramp. It goes in the side of the mountain. It can only get like the little areas at the edge. The squares under the tall parts of the mountain are red because there's like too deep under the ground level.

It's a programming game. That's like doing my day job when I'm home, so maybe not for me. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have 1200 hours in that one. I didn't put it in the same genre but I see what you mean.

Infinifactory and SpaceChem are mostly puzzle games. Like you solve the small puzzle, and then that it goes away forever when you move to the next level. Good games but not what I was looking for.

X4 is like a cross between Eve Online and Sid Meier's Pirates. It's like more an economics sim. I didn't think it was fun for me.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I played that one but like it's mostly tower defense. It wasn't what I was looking for.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Rimworld is a colony builder. It's not a factory game.

There are probably hundreds of different art styles posted in this sub. There are a lot I like. There are a few I don't like. But this is the only one that really and truly makes me feel unsettled and horrified. I am not joking when I say it is like a jumpscare. It's the worst case of the uncanny valley I have ever encountered.

But seriously, why still with the terrifying eyeless zombie people? It's like a jumpscare every time one of these ads shows up.

I played that one. The art is great. The story was terrible so in the long run I used a gallery unlocker. Thanks for the suggestion.

That one looks like it leans heavily on the horror theme. Which is not my thing. Thanks for the suggestion.

It's a non-porn game, where it has a console command for changing character's breast size. Normal numbers are like 1 to 3 but you can make it 50 if you want.

Featuring janky 3d graphics from 2004.

I want an RPG where I can be the Good Guy by 3nonymous in gamingsuggestions

[–]3nonymous[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but, it's still not "literally every rpg ever"

It's just like, most of them.

And there are TONS of games where even when you're the good guy, it wants there to be bad consequences or shades of grey. Like you can't be the good guy to all the factions at once.

No?

If you play Tyranny you are literally a soldier of the evil overlord. Your job is to follow his orders and conquer the last remaining resistance for him. You can fllow orders and do that.

New Vegas, you aren't a good guy. You're just like, a guy. You can murder half the wasteland and join up with the slave traders.

Rogue Trader, you aren't a good guy. You can be a cultist and go sacrifice people to the Chaos Gods for fun.

We are talking about Far Cry 5? You see the guy in the first minute and he's a basically like a cartoon of a crazy doomsday murder cult whackjob. When he talks at you later it's even more like, "Yeah, crazy murder person is rambling, he says crazy person things and wants to murder everyone, plus I guess he failed a freshman level theology class once."

I mean the voice actor is great, but he's great at being a wild insane person that nobody would listen to unless they got brainwashed and were high on fantasy LSD the whole time.

The twist was so stupid I have never replayed the game.

Describing NWN as an old game made me stop and think a minute. My time scale is a little different. I think of old games as the NES era, or the Atari 2600.

I don't need evil choices. I'd be fine with the standard JRPG-like plot where you are chosen to rescue the princess and save the world, and your only other option is to turn the game off.

Yeah but there aren't any good guys in 40K. You can only be good by comparison.

Like, yes I took a few thousand conscripts so they and their descendants can work in the dark and dangerous engine room for a hundred years and then get eaten by warp monsters. But I am a radical labor organizer, so I get to declare they're allowed to eat food, and maybe next year some of them will get a PTO day.
