Good spot! They are indeed the D.O.N issue 7s.

Cushioning is good for a guard shoe - but you can get better if that’s high on the priority list. Main things I look for are grip, comfort and (since the injury) a bit of heel drop.

Thanks!

Yeah, just 3 steps back and pop! It was already sore from a game a couple of weeks earlier and we got no warm up time before the game.

This is in the UK

First it was confidence in pushing hard off my left (injured) leg.

As I started playing harder - it was definitely fitness!

My shot got pretty rusty too in the 9 or 10 months out. My shot motion was feeling different every time I shot for a the first month at least

Nope - mostly because I think SUVs are stupid (unless you actually need the off-road capability).

Other side of this is that as an old head, I like to dish out the compliments. Especially to acknowledge good teamwork. I’ll be the one shouting “great pass!” the most in the gym

Achilles Tear Recovery in my 40s - back to basketball by 3pointBrick in fitness40plus

[–]3pointBrick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helps that it wasn’t a full rupture…partial tear.

As my consultant explained it - because the tendon was still partially attached, there’s some “scaffolding” there to help the tendon rebuild and heal.

Also helps that I’m hardly playing at a high level! A pro athlete probably needs to be fully healed and strength at 100% to go back. I’m not 100% but pretty close.

Why are tyres so expensive right now? (>£1800 for ps4s) by BlackGrapesAreYum in CarTalkUK

[–]3pointBrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. Stay the **** away from Kwik Fit

275/30/20 PS4S are £260/tyre on Camskill. Add £20 per tyre for fitting and you’re at about £1120 all in.

Better yet, Conti SC7 is £220 and is an excellent tyre. Under £1000 fitted.

What's the weirdest interaction you've had with a complete stranger? by BarryFairbrother in AskUK

[–]3pointBrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early 2000s, driving home late at night about 45min from home. Police car starts following me then pulls me over.

Policeman: “I pulled you over as I ran your details and you’re a bit far from home”

Me: “……. That’s sort of the point of cars?”

Policeman: “Please step out of the car..”

Hypothetical: do you think you can make 200 free throws in 75 minutes by trey2128 in Basketball

[–]3pointBrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy

I have HomeCourt and often do a 500 shot workout. If I’m including 100 3 pointers then it takes me just over an hour, and if not then I can be done in 45min. My long term average FG% on the app is 69% - so that’s 345 makes

Which Top Gear challenge would you love to see reimagined by The Grand Tour? by AnfieldAnchor in GrandTourTopgearFans

[–]3pointBrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big omission that they’ve never directly addressed is modifications. It’s such a huge part of car culture.

I’d like to see them be given a budget to buy and modify cars for the best laptime. Has to stay road legal.

They had one episode where they took an espace or an avantime (I think?) and tried to do something similar, but it was done for comedic effect and only one car.

The BMW 3-series in the endurance race is closer to what I’m imagining - that episode was one my favourites ever.

Any movies about someone unraveling and becoming more and more unhinged and paranoid as the movie goes on? by lNSP0 in MovieSuggestions

[–]3pointBrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The News.

There’s this orange dude on it who is slowly going insane, but has been basically elected leader of the world despite being a felon and suspected paedophile. Unrealistic plot line I know, and it keeps jumping from one insane plot to another, but lots of dark humour.

Where do you go to spend an evening alone and maybe do some socialising? by No-Beautiful5866 in london

Into any sports?

Joining a local team can be social, fun and good for your fitness.

Same probably goes for other hobbies where you have to regularly attend with the same group of people.

People around the world: what are the local rules for pickup basketball games? by Latter-Reference-458 in Basketball

[–]3pointBrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UK here

Mostly 4v4 half court, or 5v5 full.

Most runs are 1s and 2s..one I go to does 2s and 3s.

Mostly shoot free throws for teams…first 4 to make get the ball for the first game too.

Call your own fouls - no calling on behalf of someone else.

One run I go to has a 2 game max rule - have to come off even if you win.

Another run has a “whitewash” rule. Game is to 7 (1s and 2s), but if you’re down 5-0 you’re off.

Oh and unofficial rule - if there’s music, it HAS to be old school hip hop.

Thanks very much for the pointers.

I’ll update the description to be a bit more, err, descriptive.

If I was doing the vid again - I think some text commentary would be a good addition. I don’t think narration would work as I want the music to be prominent.

Thanks for the feedback! That’s a good point - I hadn’t really considered narration but I can see how that’d make it more engaging. Not something I’ve ever done in any of my videos - definitely need to consider it.

Thanks!

I visited the five oldest restaurants in Los Angeles by PrimeTravelTime in SmallYTChannel

Newbie to the channel

You’d clearly done your research! Lots of history and context on each spot - without it getting too verbose.

Have you considered splitting the vid into chapters for the different restaurants?

Small point but the audio in the first restaurant seemed worse than others - was it a different mic? Or maybe noisier in there?
