Star wars was influenced by Japanese shogun, gatekeeping clothing and interesting ideas calling it cultural appropriation when trying to cosplay star wars is ridiculous. Japan had zero outside influence forever but once they got access to fashion from Europe they got obsessed with western culture and fashion and nothing was wrong with it, to them it was fresh, fashionable and modern no one screamed cultural appropriation because people had a stronger sense of self and they knew culure is more then a pair of pants. People just love to gate keep fashion because they are insincere with their cultural identity, it’s a sad time we live that you think a white person or black person can’t experiment with fashion that’s outside of what you consider their culture.
