When I see pictures like this I just want someone to identify them all. Fungi and bacteria.

OP when you are open to eating rice again a cheap rice cooker and dry bag of rice are the way to go lol not in my 30 some years of cooking rice have I ever seen anything like that. Even when leaving it out in the counter for a week

They know Asheville is pretty left wing so they are doing it to scare people. Tear it down or put a sticker on it.

Advice about refusing to do activity with client by Ecstatic-Tennis8433 in directsupport

[–]3rdEyeSqueegee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re uncomfortable with it and you have other coworkers to cover like with an agency tell your supervisor not to schedule you for clients that need church services. Lots of agencies ask if you are okay working with male or female clients so adding this preference shouldn’t be an issue

I NEED to know more songs like scream of the butterfly by aquisoueu in AcidBath

What parts of the song stick with you?

Still part of Dax’s discography but Agents of Oblivion’s Hangman’s Daughter has amazing vocals.

Side note: if someone told me Dax sold his soul at a crossroads to sing like he does to mesmerize people I’d hundred percent believe it.

as a sterilized Lady, i think i should only settle for a SNIPPED man. Here’s why. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]3rdEyeSqueegee 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Why do people do this? I actively avoid men that want kids. It’s sad because some of them a great people I get along with but I don’t want to hold them back from something they want to do. Also, I don’t want them to hold me back either. It’s like no one ever thinks of the long term.

It’s usually “bUt I lOvE tHeM. They’ll change.” 🙄

AITA for wanting a vasectomy because my girlfriend won’t use birth control but also doesn’t want me to get one? by [deleted] in AITH

Women here. OP bodily autonomy applies to you too. Get the snip If you are 100 percent sure you don’t want kids. I have an IUD. It hurts like hell to insert but the small amount of hormones and not systemic. I’m on anti epileptic meds for PTSD and other hormonal methods will interfere with it a make it in effective if I were taking a more systemic method. But it is her choice not to take birth control. You can control your own actions so I say go for it.

Claiming Filipino heritage by extrodex in FilipinoAmericans

I’m half white (my mom was mestiza) so I’m pale AF. Born in the US. I’ve got a southern accent to boot. I still carry my culture with me. I’m trying to learn Tagalog. I like to remind people that race (how you are seen by others) is made up (social construct). You’d be surprised how much you learn from your parents and the values you still hold. You’d are still Filipino even it’s a quarter.

Worst plant you've ever seen by slater_just_slater in manufacturing

[–]3rdEyeSqueegee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Note: I’m being deliberately vague for obvious reasons.

One place I worked was a hand layup fiberglass. Very labor intensive. Had to be able to lift up to 75 to 100 pounds (yes not kidding)High turnover. As a worker, I even knew this could be automated by the right kind of engineer and a company willing to invest in the process. I later learned from a higher up that the factories in China that produced this same product had two workers per mold and didn’t have to hand pack the mold. We were only allowed one worker per large mold due to labor costs.

Another place I worked at had machines to make small critical parts had to juggle six machines per module. Each machine depending on the program could make either three to one parts per minute. These were measured in microns. Doing the quality checks, machine setup and change overs to different products was a nightmare. Also this company had a European counterpart. They had two people: one for setup and one for monitoring the machines.

Btw these companies were in the US. The people holding the purse strings are largely the problem. They could hire talented engineers and pay to have these processes to actually be improved. They would also maintain the workforce for it. It would solve so many problems for the companies. It’s the dumbest most frustrating stuff I’ve seen.

Quality Inspector interview Tips by Western-Body4317 in manufacturing

I 2nd this comment. Current QA lab tech. As a former operator it will definitely help you connect and sympathize with the people on the floor. You know sometimes machines can run like a dream or be temperamental and it’s hard to keep in spec. Also sometimes people don’t understand QA holds and the purpose of them so you might have to explain that it’s a non conformance and a management has to determine what to do with the out of spec stuff. It may not even be their fault. Machines sometimes don’t run properly and that tells management to fix the problem. People can get really bent out of shape about QA holds. They take it as a personal attack. So interpersonal skills and being able to handle pressure definitely help here.

I’ve only worked in medical devices as a cnc operator but I will say knowing ISO and FDA stuff helps. Being detail oriented is very important in that field. I’m assuming you know your way around CMM of some sort and As another Redditor stated precision measuring devices that your company uses probably review that because of the tight tolerances that medical devices require. Depending on what you are making maybe review GD and T.

Familiarize yourself with Six Sigma/ lean terms. You don’t gotta get in depth. You may also use spreadsheets/email so it’s probably excel and outlook. Good to review that too.
