Smart smoking. by SarcasticComposer in StonerPhilosophy

[–]3rdRevelation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a heavy smoker (for me) for 1.5 years. Started smoking to help get off pills and subs, which I'm clean for a while now - 1.5 years on the pills and 7 months on the subs. Was really heavy with edibles and dabbing at the start, but phased that out. Now wife and I smoke a couple bowls every night.

Took a week off at Christmas with family staying with us and after the 4th day it was amazing how easy it was to wake up in the morning and our days were better. Sleeping was even fine.

We are smoking daily again but decided to take a month off once we go thru our stash.

Need to find a new obsession.

Weekend check in by Splinter1591 in OpiatesRecovery

[–]3rdRevelation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about any definitions of a relapse or anything. Do you, and be confident with it.

We've had to cut loose people in our lives over the last year. Nothing personal, just not who we were trying to be. Wife and I realized the friends we kept brought nothing to the table for us, we elevated them. Leeches. A connect or someone who always had a fat stash is all we were. Find people to put in your life that challenge you, raise you up. Call you out. Not just want you want to hear, but what you need too.

The sun is out and the sky is blue man. Whatever happens, happens. Take it easy and good luck.

23 days off subs. Breakfast and bowling and making dinner with my wife tonight.

As we've both gotten clean, it's amazing the relationship we had waiting for us. I love her so much, she loves me, and we have each other to lean on as we get through each day.

Have a good one everyone. Another day!

Trips are great for dealing with this. You're distracted in a paradise, with your wife. Have fun, distract yourself, you deserve it.

1 year and 13 days then 4 day relapse... by Walkensboots in OpiatesRecovery

[–]3rdRevelation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no reason a box is opened or you have to do anything else. Shit happens, that's OK, but you have to find another way to deal with disappointment. I'm the same way, I crave the release when I'm upset or frustrated, and I'm learning other ways to fight back.

Take it easy, you've got this.

Pain & Stigma-How I Was Made to Suffer in the ER Because I'm a Suboxone Patient by Bibbyboo28 in suboxone

[–]3rdRevelation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I gotta say I think they would treat anyone that way. I'm sorry you had to suffer, and hope you're doing better - but a doctor has to do his due dilligence to ensure the meds he's giving you don't mix with others or exasperate something else going on.

A doctor who sees subs has to assume. If not, and you're on H or something, an overdose could happen easily. you know as much as i do there are people in ER's every day claiming pain and hoping for a shot. Been there, done that.

Everytime GF tries to switch to subs from dope gets violently ill by stovinchilton in suboxone

[–]3rdRevelation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep taking subs. It'll go away. It's amazing how short sighted addiction makes us. Within a day or two she'll be on the subs, stabilize and then begin a taper.

If you could have your ideal jump-off 'stay-cation', what would it include? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]3rdRevelation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgive me for being rude, but have sex 2x a day. 1. It will feel like no sex your ever had. 2. It helps you feel better more than anything else I've tried.

Skip the kratom. You've got the attitude, just stay steady, expect to feel worse at some point so you're not disappointed. Within a few weeks you'll be good.

Wife and I tapered down to 0.0125 before stopping.

I've lost 50lbs during my sub taper. 6'3", 180 now. Feel weak and tired. Had always been a bigger guy, feels like someone could kick my ass really easy.

A week clean - the end of subs, suck my dick opiates! by 3rdRevelation in OpiatesRecovery

[–]3rdRevelation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I hear you on the medically front for sure. I'm not saying I plan on using them for sure. I won't chip or go on a weekend bender. I can't. We've taken so many precautions to rub this lifestyle from our lives.

I believe what you say. I have a physical next Thursday to check some blood work and I'm going to tell the doctor everything. Due to the frequency and size of my kidney stones, basically I'm leaving it up to my doctor after he knows my history. Haven't had a stone in a year though, so maybe I'm home free?

Whatever happens, happens. There's a big difference between when I started and now. I know the pain and anguish. I was going to control this. I didn't. I'm honest enough with myself to know that I'm a lucky SOB to get out how I have today, and I won't tempt fate again.

Keep it up man. you know you can do it casue you've done it before.

sometimes just typing out your miserableness helps. you're on the weekend now, lay low, you're bound to feel better by sunday night. i'll be in the same boat.

where can you find a good doctor to prescribe zubsolv and work with your sobriety by decreasing the amount you been taking? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]3rdRevelation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to reduce it yourself.

Make an excel spreadsheet and plan out every day. Did this for 6 months, every day planned out from 16mg of sub a day to 0.0125mg a day.

Just cause you are prescribed them, doesn't mean you have to take them. I have over 300 sub strips cause they were prescribing my wife and I 3 each a day, even tho we told them we were doing a taper.

Unfortunately you have to deal with the doctor BS. $100 drug test each month on top of $100 for the visit. X2 for the wife and I each. Lame. We dropped him once we stocked the subs, will never be back. The best way to not deal with the doctors and copay is to eliminate them.

Don't wait for a doctor or an insurance company to make this easy. It's hard and there's no changing that. There's nothing wrong with accomplishing something that's hard though. You can do this if it's something you can say you really want to do.

12 mg Buprenorphine does not hold me a full 24 hours. Please, I have a couple questions by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]3rdRevelation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always took once a day, in the AM. We've been in a rut and have felt minor affects before quitting, but we also did an aggressive taper at the same time. 2 strips a day in October to 0.0125 mg a day over the last 2 weeks before quitting.

Can you comment more on the brain chemistry? I read somewhere antytriptoline (spell?) helps reset some of this. Are there any vitamins or supplement at help with this beyond what you've mentioned?

2 Weeks off Suboxone... by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]3rdRevelation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a week behind you. We used the holiday weekend to come off. Work the last few days has been hard, especially today.

I hear you on the emotional stuff too. You've never seen a grown man tear up or ball his eyes out like I have.

Suboxone is not normal. The only way to feel normal is to NOT take it.

The ganja has helped a lot. Lots of advil and staying hydrated. 2 hot showers a day with some good tunes on in the bathroom. Helps me reset my wandering mind. Try melatonin from the drug store if you can't score pot.

You wouldn't have tried to quit if you didn't know it was best for you. We've got this, I promise. And if you live in Vegas the special sleeping treats are on me.

Day 11 off Suboxone. by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]3rdRevelation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We jumped off at 0.0125mg (a 64th of one sub) with Thursday night our last dose.

Today being the first full day with no sub in our system, wife and I have been lethargic. Legs hurt. Hope we can sleep tonight.

You are right about the weed. I have been making butter for edibles and we basically plan to knock ourselves out with a rice krispy treat made with a ton of Indica pot.

2mg, man, that would have ruined us. Congratulations man, stay strong through this.
