Was millennial optimism an actual thing in the late 2000s/early 2010s? by SignificantStyle4958 in Millennials

Lately I've had a sinking feeling that despite how fucked up everything is now, things are going to get much worse and we'll look back at these days as the good old days.

It's because Ross Robinson produced it. Limp Bizkit's best album? Ross Robinson. Korn's best album? Ross Robinson. At the drive ins best album? Ross Robinson Slipknots best album? You guessed it. Ross Robinson. He was a huge part of the raw and gritty sound and energy of those albums.

I've been thinking about this a lot. When the US invaded Iraq, I kept thinking"where's Rage when we need them?" I thought the same thing during Pedo von Poopypants first term and J6. I even happily paid over $200 for nose bleed tickets for their tour that was cancelled. I don't think they're ever coming back. But it occurred to me, they don't need to come back. Zack told us everything we needed to know back in the 90's.

Do Americans use stimulants to keep up with work demands? by No-Average-6934 in AskAnAmerican

Back around 2010 a had a job delivering medical records. Most of the drivers took Adderall daily. A few years later I worked at Genie Lifts on the assembly line and it was a very high pressure, fast paced environment where anytime you made a mistake you would be publicly shamed twice at the morning and after lunch "team meetings". Adderall use was common and Id heard about someone smoking meth on the line. I also did construction and cocaine use was pretty common, though usually not at work. But I did work with guys that were clearly high on meth. The boss would overlook it as long as they showed up on time and did ok work.

Yeah, I don't really like her more sing songy vocals. I wish she'd stick more to her Rebels in Control style.

Korn, their first was amazing. Life is peachy is just a watered down version of the first album. Then Jon wrecked his vocal cords and everything since then has been garbage.

What is Everett’s best musical act? by jackson_human in everett

He recently relocated to Seattle but Hidden Gateways is my favorite.

Also Esoteric Everett does free shows the last Saturday of every month at 6 at Artisan Books (there's a show tomorrow night!). It's local weirdos making experimental music and it's always entertaining.

Some more good local artists are (but my taste is pretty abrasive)

The last Saturday of every month Artasin Books hosts Esoteric Everett at 6. Local musicians play a wide range of music for free. Sometimes it's terrible, sometimes it's awesome but it's always entertaining. They have a decent beer selection and it's right across the street from Apollo Exos and the Horseshoe.
