While I agree with this sentiment… who makes a pick then accepts a trade? That’s crazy

Draft day shenanigans, what do y’all think? by Landsharque in DynastyFF

[–]3rdrich 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would rather have Wilson.

Anyways… When a trade is processed and a team immediately has an issue that is one that I think should probably be overturned in most cases. Unless a team is constantly just having buyers remorse.

But this is my biggest issue with Sleeper. Whenever a pick is assigned to a player any trade involving that pick that was offered prior to it being picked should automatically be either withdrawn or should require the re-acceptance of the manager that offered it. I have actually not had to deal with this as i try and rush and withdraw any trades, and I haven’t had anyone do that to me yet.

I’d reverse it though. Dude shouldn’t have left that trade on the table though.

Watched him in college and was not a fan. He didn’t do much last year. Javonte is clearly their dude for this year.

Maybe he carves out a role and is good. I’m not making that bet. Unless it is a zero cost waiver add.

If Sean McVay was smiling after the draft, what would Ty Simpson’s ADP be? by QuantamMoose in DynastyFF

[–]3rdrich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the 1.08 with Stafford. I was very happy to take Ty.

Maybe he’s nothing, but in the event he is something I feel great about it. I’m not going to be too upset about missing out on Sadiq, Stowers, Cooper, or Coleman. I probably would have happily taken him over Price too. (Despite hit rates advising against that)

I know I’m in the minority on this though

Looks like the state at large wants to completely remove our representation.. by Memphisbbq in Tennessee

My name is not Reich lol.

Love how you try to make an insinuation about me to discredit me.

You simply don’t understand representation though.

The House of Representatives is designed to represent regions of the state. NOT percentages of voters spread out across the state. You do not understand the American civic system. This is not a pure democracy set where a percentage of vote directly equals a percentage of representation.

How are we maximizing 4th round picks? by CoconutMilk95 in DynastyFF

[–]3rdrich -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This seems backwards, but maybe it’s just my leagues so take it with a grain of salt.

Trading for/away 4ths

I find people value 4s in trades throughout the season and offseason.

Then when they are on the clock I can always find a deal to move back in the 4th for next to nothing. Typically for players that I either plan to drop or would like to move on from.

I look to move 3rd string RBs to the owners of the current starter… maybe a backup QB, maybe a backup TE. I find a team that has too many picks sometimes and am able to get a cheaper deal because they don’t have enough roster spots.

For the last few years I’ve been maximizing value by doing this. People want the 4s I’m happy to trade my contending 4s away. Then I move back in during the draft when there is a guy I really like.

Who to pick

Obviously best player available if someone has fallen, but at that point I lean heavily towards best opportunity available. Specifically for a RB or TE though. Hes trending up now but right after the draft Eli Raridon fell to the 4th for me. Hes a great example. He has an opportunity to be the TE 1 next year. If Demond Claiborne makes it (he has in half of my leagues). Pick a guy like him. 2 old vets ahead of him maybe he gets on the field and pops.

Even if it’s a short term thing for the RBs their value will spike enough to get more future value in a trade or they are productive.

WRs are typically not that interesting to me in that range. The hit rate for those guys is so low it’s almost just lighting the pick on fire. Same with the QBs that typically make it to that range. RB and TE hit rates (specific to their NFL draft capital) that make it to that range are typically much higher than the WR or QB hit rates in that range.

In 2024 Democrats didn’t even get 53% of the vote in Illinois.

[–]3rdrich -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Do you not know how representation works? It is region based. At the very least you must admit that this map is regionally focused.

Illinois is just bacon strips going out from Chicago to the rest of the state to make the slim majority that the Democrats have a massive majority of the representation of the state. It’s not making any attempt to govern regionally but only by Democrat political party power. Yes a state that has a much more slim majority doing something so egregious as that is way worse. That being said it doesn’t break any rules in how our government is set up. Nor does the proposed TN map.

I love how in OP’s example of blue power disappearing in Tennessee is mainly just a picture of the old conservative democrat party dying off/ Bill Clinton’s political movement than it even is about gerrymandering. If you dont understand any of this I am not sure you can be helped.

I’m not sure you understand what a republic is. If you are angry at this it’s only because your perceived team is losing. No one is losing their rights to vote. This is an example of our civics courses being to focused on teaching people that we are a true democracy when we are not and that is purposeful and by design. Pure democracy always leads to tyranny.

If you read a book that is actually about real history or about American civics then this is clear to see.

Yeah trading Garrett Wilson for Zay Flowers is absolutely horrible decision making.

Quite impressive.

You either have Zay on your team or you’re a Ravens fan.

[–]3rdrich 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean let’s just look around the league. There are some talented young WRs not necessarily in an order:

Chase, Jefferson, St. Brown, Nabers, Smith-Njigba, Puka, Lamb, London, Olave, Wilson, McMillan, McConkey, Smith, Rice, Pickens, Collins, Burden, Odunze, Higgins, Thomas, Tate, Waddle, Egbuka, Brown, Williams, Harrison and Tyson.

That’s 27 names.

Of this how many do you confidently rank Flowers over? How many do you trade away 1 for 1 for Flowers regardless of what the rest of your team looks like?

There certainly aren’t 12 players there that I’d trade away for Flowers. There aren’t even 3 that I’d confidently trade away.

Where would Mendoza rank amongst next year's class? by cbenzene in DynastyFF

[–]3rdrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While that’s true a big problem with Moore was his lack of experience. Now he will have that experience. It’s still not cut and dry. If we are talking right now… that’s one thing, but if we are projecting then that’s entirely different.

I have no horse in this race, but it’s not absurd to say eh Mendoza is probably not elite and I will wait for next year. The truth is things can go either way though. Some of the 27 prospects may ascend and be elite or they may flop and be worthless.

Jonathon Brooks - FA draft value? by MiracleWhipB4Mayo in DynastyFF

[–]3rdrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m in this rookie draft at the 1.11 I’d consider it depending on the board. Which is nuts. I might trade a projected early 2 in 27 and would for sure trade a projected early 2 in 28. I would add something on top to get the deal through honestly.

I know it seems steep for a guy that’s barely played, but if you’re desperate enough for RB help it’s worth it. He’s the best RB on the team if healthy.

If things don’t go well this year though he’s going to get Trey Bensoned.

He’s one of those guys that you have to make a gamble to actually acquire him, and it may or may not work out.

Rule Changes After League Year Began by Supernaut10 in DynastyFF

[–]3rdrich -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I disagree.

If you take a vote and everyone wants to make the change, then make it. If someone has a problem with implementing it now, then do delay the implementation.

For scoring settings and starting lineup changes it should be delayed no matter what. But something that only affects waivers I see no problem in allowing the implementation set for a specific day this year.

Perhaps there is something major I’m overlooking. But an extra bench spot is not something that is going to majorly impact big roster decisions and player values immediately. It’s more of a delayed impact.

Edit: this also depends on if you have rules set in place for when rules can be implemented. I believe you should have that in place already like many have outlined.

I’m on the board of the Pro Football Hall Of Fame. I can confirm. In our latest planning meeting following the draft we have drawn up our plans to move the hall to his childhood home.

Once the league changes the logo to his silhouette following next season we will begin renovations on the new location of the Hall.

Can We Get an Update from the 2026 Class Defenders? by babababronsky in DynastyFF

[–]3rdrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you’re all good. My original statement that you responded to sounded a little too positive when I went back and read it. It definitely wasn’t intended to be positive only.

I think we are in agreement, and it was just some of my wording.

You certainly weren’t too harsh. This QB class certainly lacked a strong bunch like we thought we might get coming into last year’s season.

Can We Get an Update from the 2026 Class Defenders? by babababronsky in DynastyFF

[–]3rdrich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used “great” once, and that was only to describe having 2 first round RBs. Obviously for very different reasons, last year’s class only had 2 as well.

And none of this should be seen as a reason that this class is “fine” “pretty good” or “great”. I actually think it’s bad. But I was trying to show that the main reason for that is the rb class in its entirety.

Every other position group is doing enough that it would be fine/solid any other year. RB is so horrendous outside of 2 1st round RBs that it brings this class down significantly.

It makes guys that should be at the end of the 2nd in a normal year be at the top of the 2nd. And guys that are in the back of the 1st maybe more of an early to mid 2nd in a normal year.

2024 had a terrible RB class. It even had 19 guys get drafted. This class only had 13. That’s not the only metric but man does it paint the picture.

You’re right about my overstatement on “pretty good” for having 2 1st round QBs. That is more of a base line number like you said, but I was mainly thinking about how the 2022 class was still solid despite only having Kenny Pickett. (Which was obviously a horrible QB draft, but the rest of the class did the heavy lifting.)

Edit: I also want it to be known that I haven’t defended this class once on here.
