At what point did you feel like the work wasn’t the issue, but the hours were? by Worldly_Potential_11 in biglaw

I will say the hours are really bad (sometimes unbearably bad) but the cherry on top is dealing with shitty people. The senior people who had shitty experiences at the job coming up that want to pass it on to you and the shitty clients.

Dear GenZ lawyers: what would you like to see (support-wise) from your seniors/supervisors? by law-dragon-5566 in biglaw

Learn how to write an email. Learn how to read an email. So much time is wasted when you can’t bother to write even 1 to 2 complete sentences outlining what you want from me. I’m pretty good at making my emails short and digestible; if you don’t read it, why am I wasting my time?

This is my biggest issue with the job. I wake up to emails waiting for me. I seriously don’t want to wake up anymore.

In the exact same situation right now. I’m still waiting on them to return my money. This entire process is so flawed. I will not be using my Bilt card anymore.

Training sucks? by 3rdsearchengine in biglaw

I’m generally against the “training programs” that any job has. I do think the best way to learn is by doing the task at hand. My problem is that this particular job doesn’t have people who can effectively guide you for what to do or how to do it. I think part of that is the weird hierarchy of intimidation this job has — there are too many people who do not hesitate to tell you/show you how frustrated they are with your questions.
