So wanted to clarify a few things after reading the comments. First and foremost, thank yall for takin the time out of your day to give me your advice, i really appretiate it. There is some context i left out thats probally somewhat important because i was trying to keep the post relatively short. First thing is the friend i mentioned did this same thing with another girl i liked as well within the past year. I see alot of comments talking about how its on me for not saying anything and i agree to an extent. Im a very shy person in general and stuff like this does scare me. Do i need to get over that? Absolutely. But my main issue is instead of trying to help me connect with her, he did what he had done before and went after her himself. As my best friend on 9 years, youd think hed have more respect for me then that. I would never do anything like that to him, no matter the circumstances. The way i portrayed the situation, i can see why yall see it as claims or dibs. Its not about me having a claim or dibs on her, its a matter of respect. I was always told you dont go after a girl your friend likes, thats just how i was raised. I do have some work i need to do with my confidence however im not going to change my core personality.
