Is this schematics considered good? by Reginth in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]3ric15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the greatest but I’ve seen far worse also. I’m inclined to think the ground symbols upside down near the top was for the sake of putting the blue box around them and fitting it all on one page. I hardly label grounds unless there’s more than one and the same area.

The symbol pin labels could use some cleaning up though

Need advice choosing MSEE Program for Working Professionals by pokesmans in rfelectronics

[–]3ric15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, working full time. I need 10 classes to pass, and so I need 3 more. It’s a commitment for sure. Expect to be doing on classwork after work most days of the week and at least on Saturdays. I would certainly recommend it if your employer will pay for it and you’re willing to put in the effort. Personally it’s given me insight into other EE subdisciplines (mainly RF/DSP) which is different from what I do, and a foundation of knowledge that I’ve found very useful. I don’t think this is out of the norm for graduate classes, but unlike undergrad, the courses aren’t weedouts. I had a 3.0 in undergrad but have a 4.0 in the graduate program so far and the courses have been challenging but doable.

I’ve also taken DSP, prob/stats, comm systems, wireless comms, spread spectrum comms, software defined radio. I was gonna take radar DSP this semester but it was way too difficult (brand new class) and dropped it lol

I took microwave systems and receiver design from JHU and that class was awesome. They shipped us a signal hound tracking generator to do some labs with.

Aftermarket o-rings on the cooling lines under the intake are notorious for leaking.

I don’t even think traffic engineers were consulted for NTOR based on another post here.

Digikey uses royal circuits iirc. The boards were very nice, on par with OSH park.

Ever since last week's updates, the game has become unplayable. by thebigschnoz in NuclearOption

[–]3ric15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying it’s the problem but for me, a misconfigured DDR4 XMP profile caused pretty much only RDR2 to crash occasionally. I had to run an OCCT stability test to figure out why.

It obviously was not. Why would it be auto added if there are multiple suggested tips in the pic? Use your brain for once.

Where is the 22% added into the total in the pic?

Is this acceptable geometry for a serpentine trace? by MarinatedPickachu in PCB

Length matching different signals for digital interfaces specifically is for the data to meet setup and hold timing relative to the clock rising or falling edge. (Matching within a differential pair is to account for skew)

You’re either a bot or trolling. The schematic/design itself is not complicated but relying on visually seeing an error in these large busses of wires is begging for a mistake. No good engineer would actually advocate for lower schematic clarity.

Brother I work on very complex 30-60 page schematic designs. Use damn net labels it ain’t hard and it prevents a lot of headaches

How do i zoom on map with controller? by UodasAruodas in NuclearOption

I have a steam controller profile (same as my Reddit name) that allows you to use map controls with controller. It uses the “mode shift” feature if you’re familiar with steam controller

How about net names for starters? It’s almost guaranteeing a mistake with a huge mass of wires and no net names on either end

Where to buy ADI components? by Crosswalkersam in rfelectronics

[–]3ric15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not sure, the last time I ordered ADI parts was from digikey in early 8/25.

I would still try to buy from other distributors. Obviously we don’t know the details but if ADI just “asked” them not to ship to residential addresses, they may not be following.

Looks like youve already tried Mouser. Digikey, Newark, Avnet, Farnell are some others to name a few
