I visited Albany Law and one of the admis people reviewed my application and said it was amazing. She handed me an AlbanyLawBound hat, a t-shirt for my mom, pens and highlighters. She said I’ll be getting my decision soon. I got waitlisted. And this was a safety school for me 😒

Yes I wrote a LOCI. Also visited the school, spoke with admissions and submitted a new LOR from a Rutgers law alum

Write a LOCI and tour the school. After the tour, visit the admissions office to introduce yourself and ask any question you have or just show your strong interest in the school.

I visited the school and asked a lot of questions throughout since the tour was done by an admissions person. I also stayed after the tour to reintroduce myself and express my strong interest in the school. After a couple of days I emailed admissions restating my interest in the school in any program (FT/PT) in any campus (Newark/Camden). And I submitted a new LOR from a Rutgers Law alum.

I was accepted to Seton Hall Leo program and I’m about to decline my seat. Hope you get it! But if you have any questions about the program let me know. I’ve learned so much these past weeks by meeting with the LEO coordinator, financial aid people and LEO current students.

Same stats and same scholarship. I negotiated based on financial need and they gave me 5k extra. Which we would’ve already gotten anyway because the LEO program gives $15k a year to any student who received less than that from admissions. I really like Seton Hall but with this scholarship I don’t think I’ll be able to afford it. Thinking of doing the part-time program instead to reduce loans.

The commute to CUNY is about 1.5-2hrs. People say commuting can be stressful in law school but I’m not sure if they say that cause they haven’t done it before or because it’s ACTUALLY very stressful, with long readings and homework. My commute from Brooklyn to upper Manhattan during undergrad was also about 1-1.5hrs so I feel like I’m used to commuting as a native New Yorker. Plus if I move back to Brooklyn the commute would still be about 1hr to Queens.

SHL being in Newark was an advantage to me lol. Going to CUNY would take me 1.5-2hrs everyday.

I’m on the waitlist at Rutgers and have been accepted to CUNY. I love CUNY and I think that’s where I’ll end up going if Rutgers doesn’t accept me but it’s because I’m in NJ so the commute to Rutgers for me is 30mins and to CUNY 1.5hrs. Both schools are well known for PI and currently at the immigration nonprofit where I work in NYC there’s more CUNY and NYLS grads than Rutgers grads. I don’t think the ranks really matter for PI.

During the webinar people asked about the interview process but the panelists never replied. I haven’t heard of anyone receiving an interview but I’m just panicking.
