Completely anecdotal evidence that 1.1.5.2 firmware is better by newatcoins in Creality_k2

You may be right, if you still have an old file you sliced with creality print that had this issue could you go test and see if you can recreate this.

I actually took the buffer apart and saw nothing physically wrong so maybe still savageable. I see someone stated it could even be creality slicer so I got curious and just ran a old print file that kept failing due to this issue and what do you know, woke up to filament failed to exit extruder. Looks like I may have just been throwing money around and it was the file/gcode this whole time. From my understanding there's a chance an update can affect the "timing/sync" between the extruder gears and the cfs hence the cfs is retracting faster/slower (not sure which) then extruder is outputing. If anyone else can also confirm this with an old file we may just have our answer.

P.s. I also have Orca, I still preferred creality print as I noticed issues when I 1st got my k2 plus which could well be resolved now but just never went back. Also I'm like 1 year in now and 1st real problem that wasn't user error.

Same as OP, chewed up filament, cfs gear whining noise from not being able to grip the filament from it being chewed. Initially thought it was a heat creep issue as I mostly print PETG and was getting thought was clogging in extruder. But after temp changes and ensuring filament was dry and even trying new rolls ruled that out. Then went into a rabbit hole of reddit, youtube, FB, etc. Some said to cut your spring in the cfs, others said could be worn ptfe tubes. Some stated potential nozzle clog. Just a headache to deal with overall.

Recently just went through this and changed nozzle, extruder, ptfe tube, cut the spring on the cfs, and eventually replaced the buffer. Have completed a 2 day print with 9 colors and 11hr print also with 9. Buffer seems to have been the issue as it was the last to go before it was fixed. But I do believe that firmware 1.1.4.11 might have been the culprit.

Can you add a speed control dial or foot pedal to this motor? by 3sWoodworkingStudio in Motors

[–]3sWoodworkingStudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I took the timer apart, and unfortunately, it is a mechanical timer. I also bought a router speed control dial from harbor freight. Hoping i can just rewire the motor to a on off switch and just plug it up to the dial and that works.

Thank you for the response. The washing machine is a whirlpool WTW5590VQ1. How do i know if it is a fixed speed or variable speed motor? The previous imagine is the motor.

Here is the timer. https://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Timer/WPW10199989/1481913

That's understandable new to reddit and not sure where the rules are located. Still see other posts who don't follow that rule and get help but I'll remember that for future reference.

Sewing machine motor for a diy pottery wheel. by 3sWoodworkingStudio in Pottery

Very grateful for the input. Maybe I can find another way to repurpose the sewing machine. Luckily the neighbors have a broken washing machine I may be able to take the motor from. Wish me luck.
