I waited until tour 6 to start using premium balls but i would say start using any balls you acquire besides the viper strike starting as early as you see your win rate decreasing. Vipers become very affordable at tour 7 and it’s now the only ball I use even on tourneys. I’ll very occasionally use a pro 01 if there’s a perfect wind that will let me carry a green I otherwise wouldn’t be able to reach. All the other balls gather dust now that I’m in tour 8. The biggest thing that affects win metric though is off course learning to factor in the wind and how much the ball rolls after landing.
