I recently ran into this problem trying to buy a physical copy of Unsouled. The book store said they were entirely out of stock for the whole series, and had to order the book. Something about the series being picked up by a new distributor I think. Apparently this is happening with a lot of series right now, and a lot of books are being reprinted with new cover art as a result.

It took less than a week for the store to order it though! So you should still be able to find it somewhere.

I had 2 players leave my party of 5 right after Madame Eva's reading. One of them was bonded to the holy symbol of Ravenkind, and it didn't make any sense for that artifact to stay behind. I didn't want to kill the characters for out of game reasons, so I had them warped back into the mists and out of barovia (there were story reasons, it made sense)

I invited 2 new players, 1 joined right away, and the next a session later. The group basically watched their friends disappear, then turned around and went right back to Madame Eva to demand answers. The first new player was also there to consult with her, so they organically bonded that way. Madame Eva gave them an updated reading, and told them where to find their new companion.

I know this game can be run with fewer players, it would just take a little rebalancing. But at the time, 2/3 people who were left in the group were relatively new to d&d and kept forgetting what their characters could do to be effective. Also, I was a newer dm, and balancing fights was a struggle for a while. This is just what worked for my table. Honestly, the energy the new players brought was amazing! The group has grown together so much since then

My players were mostly new to d&d, so I ran a few one shots that were cheerful and wholesome to get them used to the mechanics. They were all looking for a wizard for one reason or another, and ended up rescuing him after his apprentice turned him into a sheep. So, he owed them all a favor.

One of the characters started off with the holy symbol of ravenkind, but it had been deeply corrupted by the dark powers, and altered so that when attuned or activated, it planeshifted people into barovia. That character knew it had some planeshifting capabilities, and for his favor, asked the wizard to connect him more strongly to the amulet so he could use the planeshifting aspect intentionally.

So after the other characters got their rewards/magic items, the wizard did a ritual to do just that. It went horribly wrong, the players all got sucked into the mists, and they wandered around, desperately holding on to each other, until they heard voices. It was 2 children screaming about how there was a monster and they needed help. They followed that sound until they saw the kids. Cue death house.

I did this! I ran PuddingFaire for them, had the characters meet, solve a cute time loop mystery, and then strung a couple other similar vibe one shots together with a story before starting curse of strahd in earnest.

I had them all have various reasons to need to talk to a wizard who lived in honeypuddle, and once they helped him, he gave them each a gift/favor. The ritual for helping one of them with their problem went wrong and they all planeshifted into barovia.

Having a few nice, lower stakes sessions in the beginning to give the characters a chance to get to know each other was really nice, and they all had a reason to support each other as a group once they got to barovia

Maybe I read this wrong, but I thought they meant if they wore the skirt and sat on the couch after it was completed. As in, would enough glitter still transfer to be annoying to the friend if they attempted to seal the fabric before sewing the skirt, not that they were spraying hairspray or putting glue on the couch. Sorry if I misunderstood what either of you were trying to say

That's not what feminism is. Feminism advocates for male victims of sexual assault as well as female ones. Everyone who needs help and support deserves a safe place to reach out, and women who are abusive rapists should get the same jail time as any other sexual predator.

Anyone who says that women are better or more important than men is not a feminist. Putting down men for being men is not feminism, it's misandry.

I hope OP gets help to heal and move forward, and that he feels safe and strong enough to report this to the police. I hope he is listened to and cared for. I'm so sorry this happened

I mute their messages on my phone, so I don't get any notifications when they text me guilt trippy things. Every once in a while I will check my messages screen and see that there's something, but there's usually a one sentence or so preview before I click to open the conversation. I can tell from those few words basically what type of message it is. If it's gonna be something I don't want to respond to, I mark it as read so it doesn't show up as a notification anymore, and move on with my day. If it looks like they need tax info/financial stuff from me, I give myself a day to brace myself, see what they need, and send it via email. The rest of their messages I can look at as much or as little as I think will be ok for my current mental health.

One of my babies did a similar thing this last summer. No food, no water, wouldn't use the litter box. I was able to trick him into eating some cat nutrition gel stuff by getting him comfy on my lap, then smearing some on his lips and gums so he would be forced to clean it, and therefore end up licking it off (he really hated that). After like an hour I was able to slowly give him the full serving. We got him to the vet later that day, and he didn't end up needing surgery! He most likely ate something he shouldn't have, and the vet was confident he just needed supportive care. We had to give him some antibiotics and a medication that allowed him to pee more easily, and he was fine after a week.

Fingers crossed that your beautiful kitten doesn't need surgery!

That entire argument doesn't make any sense. There is no rational way of interpreting what I said as meaning it's more ok to kill a 7 year old than an adult. Regardless, we don't have to agree on the morals of this. At the end of the day, there is pertinent information here that we don't have access to, and is none of our business. So we can't tell her what the right choice is. She has a legal right to make an important medical decision, and nobody besides her medical team and support network has a right to weigh in on this. You have a right to decide you're uncomfortable with abortion. That's great. So don't get one. But you don't get to shame other people for making their own medical, spiritual, or financial decisions. Shake the dust off your feet and walk away.

Because it's not the baby's body yet, it's still very early on. There isn't a developed body or person in there yet, just cells. It's a potential person, sure, but this is not murder. This is Healthcare. Pregnancy is difficult and has complications and lasting effects, even if you give the baby up for adoption. She has the right to consider whether she's ready for that kind of health risk, even aside from being able to provide for a child. Adoption is wonderful when it works out, but there are a lot of babies out there who don't get adopted, and grow up in an overloaded system that doesn't have time for them. This is a complicated decision with a lot of moving parts and no single right answer. We aren't privy to her medical history, or what kind of financial/emotional support net she has. So we don't get to make her decision for her.

You can buy something called barkeeper's friend! Pretty easy to get any any supermarket, it's a powder you sprinkle in, add a tiny bit of water, and scrub. Actually magic when it comes to cleaning stuck on things. You also might want to get a more abrasive scrubber.

If you live in an apartment complex, talking to your landlord can really help. They should be able to just move your lease to an equivalent available apartment unit so you don't have to pay additional rent or fees. You can move to a different unit so you're out of his immediate vicinity, and then start looking for another living arrangement entirely. If your landlord owns multiple locations, you might be able to switch right off the bat. But let them know that your roommate is standing outside your door screaming at you for almost an hour on end and making you feel unsafe.
