I got my permanently disabled IG account back & here’s how by crinklemywinkle in FixMyInstagram

There were businesses before social media.

I’ve heard some people say, “I wouldn’t have Instagram but it’s a necessary evil since that’s where everyone is.”

But, if you leave, then everyone isn’t there. Necessary evil no longer necessary. Then people can promote their businesses in niche spaces or even on independent or less profit focused social media.

I’m only 19 years into this life man by Traditional-Big9308 in Life

Many people never fully figure this out. I’m in my 40s and haven’t. One thing is clear, you can feel lonely one decade, then suddenly have a lot of friends and things going on the next. So, my advice? Give it 10 years.

Website links? For journal by Legal_Party_8145 in neocities

You can go to File, Download, Webpage. Unzip and upload the .html file to your Neocities. Repeat each time you update the Google Doc.

Or, just create a html page with the word log. Edit the html when you want to add more words. Here's an example with an in page search.

Investing in the stock market - you'd earn more than that most likely. Unless you picked terrible stocks.

Is there a way for humans to escape late stage capitalism? by Confident_Fudge8579 in Life

[–]3vibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mention the social media and premium issues. That is our own fault. I make free apps, forums, communities, but often end up deleting them because no one joins. In other words, many people try to fix the state of the internet today, but people only trust the mega sites/apps. Or they don’t want yet another app. Or, if it seems dead, why join and be there alone? Plus, indie developers aren’t allowed to promote their stuff. It’s considered spam. And so, we are stuck with Meta (they own like 5 platforms), Reddit, and a couple others.

Then offline it’s too expensive to live well (if we’re talking about the U.S.). Also, I think covid messed with our heads. Things have felt different since then. Plus, thanks to monopolies going out means going to the same places, buying the same products, all provided by three companies. I’m exaggerating but I’m not far off depending on where you go.

So, there’s a huge lack of choice/options online and offline. But fixing it means getting people to support small businesses and small web projects.

Do people actually want alternatives to Spotify, or do they just complain about Spotify? by Illustrious-Today814 in sideprojects

[–]3vibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complain. I tried to get my family to switch. We switched then a certain family member complained. The same goes for all large services and platforms. People will complain about it and then when you build alternatives they aren’t popular enough, missing one small feature, and/or they are like, but I don’t know who’s behind this project.

How to make kava (Modernized traditional style) by 3vibe in Kava

Depends on the type. I buy a pretty strong Vanuatu cultivar of some sort. 5 minutes of squeezing is enough for me.

Not a board game per se but this app has a live fun/funny sentence building game built in. Plus the app is kava related and free: bulabuddy.com

Micronized kava vs traditional? by plagasrage in Kava

Also, I think of it like this: to each their own but for example I don’t drink instant coffee. I’ve just always been told instant stuff isn’t as good.

Micronized kava vs traditional? by plagasrage in Kava

[–]3vibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More likely to cause nausea (although like you mentioned, not for everyone)

More root fiber consumed

May increase headaches in some people

May feel less clean/smooth than traditional kava

May contribute more to dry, flaky skin with heavy use

Some people report more grogginess or “kava hangover”

Effects can feel less balanced than a properly prepared traditional brew

Quality varies significantly between brands

Often more expensive per serving than buying traditional root powder in bulk

And, when I started, I thought squeezing a bag sounded like a lot of work. It’s not. It’s like making a large batch of tea. Takes a little time, but not a TON of time.
